Abstract

A method of operating a gaming system having a random number generator and a credit meter, comprising: receiving from a player an input of real world credit; providing an interactive application using one or more bonus elements; determining a gambling outcome from a wager triggered by a trigger in the interactive application; allocating the gambling outcome to the credit meter; determining that a bonus element of the interactive application has been consumed; providing the bonus round using bonus round parameters; determining a bonus gambling outcome from a bonus wager triggered by a trigger in the bonus round; and allocating the bonus gambling outcome to the credit meter.

Claims (19)

1 . A method of operating a gaming system having a random number generator and a credit meter, comprising:

receiving by the gaming system from a player an input of real world credit;

providing by the gaming system an interactive application using one or more bonus elements;

determining by the gaming system a gambling outcome from a wager using the random number generator, wherein the determination of the gambling outcome is triggered by a trigger in the interactive application;

allocating by the gaming system the gambling outcome to the credit meter;

determining by the gaming system that a bonus element of the interactive application has been consumed;

providing by the gaming system the bonus round using bonus round parameters;

determining by the gaming system a bonus gambling outcome from a bonus wager using the random number generator, wherein the determination of the bonus gambling outcome is triggered by a trigger in the bonus round; and

allocating by the gaming system the bonus gambling outcome to the credit meter.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining by the gaming system the bonus round parameters including a paytable to be used in determining the bonus wager outcome.

3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

providing by the gaming system the bonus round using application mechanics similar to the application mechanics of the interactive application.

4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

triggering by the gaming system the bonus round when a threshold number of bonus elements have been consumed.

5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

providing by the gaming system the interactive application using one or more non-bonus elements.

6 . The method of claim 5 , further comprising:

providing by the gaming system the interactive application in which the one or more bonus elements are distinguishable from the one or more non-bonus elements.
