Abstract

The invention provides methods and materials related to a gene expression-based survival predictor for DLBCL patients.

Claims (11)

1. A method of treating a subject for diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) which method comprises:

i) evaluating the subject for antiangiogenic therapy of DLBCL, comprising:

a) isolating gene expression product from one or more DLBCL biopsy samples from the subject;

b) obtaining a gene expression profile from the gene expression product by detecting an expression level for VWF, CD31 (PECAM1), EGFL7, MMRN2, GPR116, and SPARCL, KDR (VEGF receptor-2), Grb10, integrin alpha 9, TEK, ROBO4, ERG, CAV1, CAV2, and EHD2;

c) determining the subject's signature value from the gene expression profile; and

d) determining whether the subject's signature value is higher or lower than a standard value, wherein antiangiogenic therapy is indicated by a signature value that is higher than the standard value and antiangiogenic therapy is not indicated by a signature value that is not higher than the standard value,

ii) determining that the subject's signature value is higher than the standard value, and

iii) treating the subject with antiangiogenic therapy.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the signature value corresponds to the average of the expression levels of the genes in the gene expression profile.

The method of claim 1 , wherein obtaining a gene expression profile from the gene expression product comprises detecting an expression level for NM_014601, NM_017789, NM_000484, NM_004684, NM_002291, NM_000210, NM_000552, NM_001233, NM_006404, NM_000609, NM_002253, NM_001442, NM_016315, NM_006307, NM_000163, NM_000950, NM_002666, NM_000459, NM_004797, NM_000442, NM_198098, NM_021005, NM_014220, NM_001001549, NM_006108, NM_001003679, NM_000599, NM_001753, NM_005841, NM_015345, NM_015234, NM_006108, NM_016215, NM_022481, XM_371262, NM_016563, NM_006094, NM_019035, NM_019055, NM_002207, XM_930608, XM_037493, NM_052954, NM_002837, NM_019558, NM_001442, NM_024756, BQ897248, NM_020663, AK091419, NM_015719, NM_012072, NM_000300, NM_019105, NM_030754, NM_019105, NM_014220, NM_000668, NM_001354, NM_001032281, NM_001001924, NM_019105, NM_004449, NM_018407, NM_000331, NM_019105, NM_001034954, NM_017734, NM_024756, NM_006744, and NM_001034954.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the signature value corresponds to the average of the expression levels of the genes in the gene expression profile.
