Abstract

Provided is a frame configuration usable for both SISO transmission and MISO and/or MIMO transmission. A frame configurator of a transmission device configures a frame by gathering data for SISO and configures a frame by gathering data for MISO and/or MIMO data, thereby to improve the reception performance (detection performance) of a reception device.

Claims (14)

1 . A transmission device for transmitting OFDM symbols, the transmission device comprising:

a transmission signal generator generating a transmission signal of a frame including multiple subframes containing OFDM symbols, and

a transmitter transmitting the transmission signal generated by the transmission signal generator, wherein

the subframe includes a subframe boundary symbol and a data symbol, the subframe boundary symbol is the leading OFDM symbol of the subframe and/or the trailing OFDM symbol of the subframe, and the number of pilots in the subframe boundary symbol is more than that in the data symbol, and whether or not the subframe boundary symbol is provided in each subframe is selected independently for each subframe.

2 . A transmission method for transmitting OFDM symbols, the transmission method comprising:

a transmission signal generating step of generating a transmission signal of a frame including multiple subframes containing OFDM symbols, and

a transmission step of transmitting the transmission signal generated by the transmission signal generating step, wherein

the subframe includes a subframe boundary symbol and a data symbol, the subframe boundary symbol is the leading OFDM symbol of the subframe and/or the trailing OFDM symbol of the subframe, and the number of the pilots in the subframe boundary symbol is more than that in the data symbol, and whether or not the subframe boundary symbol is provided in each subframe is selected independently for each subframe.

3 . A reception device comprising:

a receiver receiving, from a transmission device for transmitting OFDM symbols, a signal of a frame including multiple subframes containing OFDM symbols, each of the subframes including a subframe boundary symbol and a data symbol, the subframe boundary symbol being the leading OFDM symbol of the subframe and/or the trailing OFDM symbol of the subframe, the number of pilots in the subframe boundary symbol being more than that in the data symbol, and whether or not the subframe boundary symbol is provided in each subframe being selected independently for each subframe, and

a demodulator decoding the OFDM symbols contained in each subframe of the signal received by the receiver by using the subframe boundary symbol in each subframe.

4 . A reception method for use by a reception device, comprising:

a receiving step of receiving, from a transmission device for transmitting OFDM symbols, a signal of a frame including multiple subframes containing OFDM symbols, the subframe including a subframe boundary symbol and a data symbol, the subframe boundary symbol being the leading OFDM symbol of the subframe and/or the trailing OFDM symbol of the subframe, the number of pilots in the subframe boundary symbol being more than that in the data symbol, and whether or not the subframe boundary symbol is provided in each subframe being selected independently for each subframe, and

a demodulating step of decoding OFDM symbols contained in the signal received in the receiving step by using the subframe boundary symbol in each subframe.
