Monochlorotrifluoropropene compounds and compositions and methods using same
Various uses of monochlorotrifluoropropenes, in combination with one or more other components, including other fluoroalkenes, hydrocarbons; hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), ethers, alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, methyl formate, formic acid, water, trans-1,2-dichloroethylene, carbon dioxide and combinations of any two or more of these, in a variety of applications, including as blowing agents, are disclosed.
1. A container for providing an aerosol product comprising:
at least one container containing (a) at least one propellant comprising a compressed or liquefied gas and (b) at least one material to be propelled comprising at least transCHF2CF═CCIH (1233ydE).
2. A container according to claim 1 wherein said aerosol product comprises a personal care product and wherein said 1233ydE is present in the material in an amount of from about 5% by weight to about 95% by weight of the composition and wherein said material comprises at least one additional component selected from the group consisting of C1-C4 hydrocarbons, hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), ethers, alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, methyl formate, formic acid, water, trans-1,2-dichloroethylene, carbon dioxide, dimethoxymethane (DME), a second fluoroalkene different than said first fluoroalkene, one or more C1-C4 alcohols and combinations of any two or more of these and wherein said at least one additional component comprises from about 5% to about 95% by weight of the composition.

A container according to claim 2 wherein said 1233ydE is present in the aerosol product in an amount of from about 20% by weight to about 90% by weight of the aerosol product and wherein said at least one additional component comprises from about 15% to about 85% by weight of at least one second fluoroalkene or a hydrocarbon selected from the group consisting of iso-pentane, normal-pentane, cyclo-pentane, butane and iso-butane and combinations of these.
4. A container according to claim 2 wherein said at least one material further comprises one or more C1-C4 alcohols.
5. A container according to claim 1 wherein said at least one material further comprises cisCHF2CF═CCIH (1233ydZ).

A container according to claim 5 wherein said material further comprises at least one additional component selected from the group consisting of C1-C4 hydrocarbons, hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), ethers, alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, methyl formate, formic acid, water, trans-1,2-dichloroethylene, carbon dioxide, dimethoxymethane (DME), one or more C1-C4 alcohols and combinations of any two or more of these.
7. A container according to claim 1 wherein said aerosol product comprises at least one fluoroalkene other than said 1233ydE, at least one HFC, at least one C1-C4 alcohol, trans-1,2-dichloroethylene, and combinations thereof.
8. An aerosol comprising:
(a) at least transCHF2CF═CCIH (1233ydE); and
(b) at least one additional component selected from the group consisting of lubricants, personal care components, stabilizers, metal passivators, corrosion inhibitors, flammability suppressants and combinations of two or more of these.
9. A cleaning fluid comprising the composition of claim 8 wherein said material comprises at least about 50% by weight of said at least one 1233ydE.
10. A personal care product comprising the aerosol of claim 8 wherein said aerosol comprises at least about 50% by weight of monochlorotrifluoropropene(s).
