Abstract

A display device including a display section having a plurality of pixel electrodes; and a plurality of drive electrodes extending in a first direction and arranged side-by-side in a second direction. Each of the drive electrodes has a width in the second direction corresponding to a size of the two or more pixel electrodes, and has one or more slits extending in the first direction.

Claims (31)

1. A display device with a touch detection function, comprising:

a pixel substrate;

an opposed substrate disposed to face the pixel substrate;

a plurality of drive electrodes arranged side-by-side on the pixel substrate,

a plurality of pixel electrodes facing the drive electrodes, the pixel electrodes being arranged in a matrix of a first direction and a second direction crossing the first direction; and

an image signal line on the pixel substrate, the image signal line extending in the second direction and supplying the pixel electrodes with the image signal,

wherein

each of the drive electrodes serves as a common drive electrode for displaying image and also serves as a drive electrode for touch sensing,

each of the drive electrodes has one or more inner-electrode slits,

an inter-electrode slit is formed between the drive electrodes adjacent to each other,

one of the one or more inner-electrode slits is discontinued by non-slit portions of the drive electrode,

the non-slit portions at least partially covers the image signal line, and

a width of the inner-electrode slit is 10 micrometers or less.

2. The display device according to claim 1 , further comprising a gate signal line extending in the first direction, wherein the non-slit portions at least partially cover the gate signal line.

3. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein the inner-electrode slit and the inter-electrode slit are each provided between the pixel electrodes adjacent to each other.

4. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein a width of the inter-electrode slit is 10 micrometers or less.

5. A display device with a touch detection function, comprising:

a pixel substrate;

an opposed substrate disposed to face the pixel substrate;

a plurality of drive electrodes arranged side-by-side on the pixel substrate;

a plurality of pixel electrodes facing the drive electrodes, the pixel electrodes being arranged in a matrix of a first direction and a second direction crossing the first direction; and

an image signal line on the pixel substrate, the image signal line extending in the second direction and supplying the pixel electrodes with the image signal,

wherein

each of the drive electrodes serves as a common drive electrode for displaying image and also serves as a drive electrode for touch sensing,

each of the drive electrodes has one or more inner-electrode slits,

an inter-electrode slit is formed between the drive electrodes adjacent to each other,

one of the one or more inner-electrode slits is discontinued by non-slit portions of the drive electrode,

the non-slit portions at least partially covers the image signal line, and

a width of the inter-electrode slit is 10 micrometers or less.

6. The display device according to claim 5 , further comprising a gate signal line extending in the first direction, wherein the non-slit portions at least partially cover the gate signal line.

7. The display device according to claim 5 , wherein the inner-electrode slit and the inter-electrode slit are each provided between the pixel electrodes adjacent to each other.
