Abstract

A wireless device receives one or more messages comprising: a parameter indicating that uplink duplication is configured for a bearer corresponding to a first logical channel and a second logical channel; first mapping restrictions of the first logical channel to at least one first cell; and second mapping restrictions of the second logical channel to at least one second cell. A control element indicating activation or deactivation of duplication for the bearer is received. If the control element indicates activation of the duplication, the first mapping restrictions are applied to the first logical channel and the second mapping restrictions are applied to the second logical channel. If the control element indicates deactivation of the duplication, the first mapping restrictions are lifted from the first logical channel and the second mapping restrictions are lifted from the second logical channel.

Claims (58)

1. A method by a wireless device, the method comprising:

receiving, from a base station, a message including a parameter indicating that packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) duplication is configured for a radio bearer corresponding to a first logical channel and a second logical channel, first mapping restrictions of the first logical channel to at least one first cell, and second mapping restrictions of the second logical channel to at least one second cell;

identifying the PDCP duplication is configured for the radio bearer based on the parameter included in the message;

receiving, from the base station, a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) indicating activation or deactivation of the PDCP duplication for the radio bearer configured with the PDCP duplication; and

transmitting, to the base station, a power headroom report (PHR) in case that the MAC CE indicates activation of the PDCP duplication for the radio bearer, wherein the PHR is used to configure the first logical channel and the second logical channel to be mapped to cells that are not power limited,

wherein, in case that the MAC CE indicates activation of the PDCP duplication for the radio bearer and the first logical channel and the second logical channel belong to a same MAC entity, an original PDCP PDU is transmitted on a first carrier and a duplicated PDCP PDU is transmitted on a second carrier which is different from the first carrier based on the first mapping restrictions of the first logical channel and the second mapping restrictions of the second logical channel,

wherein, in case that the MAC CE indicates deactivation of the PDCP duplication for the radio bearer and the first logical channel and the second logical channel belong to the same MAC entity, the first mapping restrictions of the first logical channel and the second mapping restrictions of the second logical channel are lifted, and

wherein the MAC CE includes a bit corresponding to a bearer identifier of a radio bearer and indicating activation or deactivation of the PDCP duplication for the radio bearer.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein:

a first buffer associated with the first logical channel comprises a first packet corresponding to the radio bearer; and

a second buffer associated with the second logical channel comprises duplicate of the first packet.

3. The method of claim 2 , further comprising transmitting, to the base station, first data of the first logical channel on the at least one first cell or at least one second cell in case that the first mapping restrictions are lifted.

4. The method of claim 2 , further comprising:

transmitting, to the base station, first data of the first logical channel on the at least one first cell based on the first mapping restrictions; and

transmitting, to the base station, second data of the second logical channel on the at least one second cell based on the second mapping restrictions.

5. The method of claim 2 , wherein:

the first logical channel corresponds to a first radio link control (RLC) entity; and

the second logical channel corresponds to a second RLC entity.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein:

the first logical channel corresponds to a first radio link control (RLC) entity; and

the second logical channel corresponds to a second RLC entity.

7. The method of claim 6 , further comprising transmitting, to the base station, first data of the first logical channel on the at least one second cell in case that the first mapping restrictions are lifted.

8. The method of claim 6 , further comprising transmitting, to the base station, first data of the first logical channel on the at least one first cell or the at least one second cell in case that the first mapping restrictions are lifted.

9. The method of claim 1 , further comprising transmitting, to the base station, first data of the first logical channel on the at least one second cell in case that the first mapping restrictions are lifted.

10. The method of claim 1 , further comprising transmitting, to the base station, first data of the first logical channel on the at least one first cell or the at least one second cell in case that the first mapping restrictions are lifted.

11. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

transmitting, to the base station, first data of the first logical channel on the at least one first cell based on the first mapping restrictions; and

transmitting, to the base station, second data of the second logical channel on the at least one second cell based on the second mapping restrictions.

12. The method of claim 1 , wherein the radio bearer is a data radio bearer.

13. The method of claim 1 , further comprising applying a logical channel prioritization procedure based on first mapping restrictions and second mapping restrictions.

14. A wireless device comprising:

a transceiver; and

a processor coupled with the transceiver and configured to control to:

receive, from a base station, a message including a parameter indicating that packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) duplication is configured for a radio bearer corresponding to a first logical channel and a second logical channel, first mapping restrictions of the first logical channel to at least one first cell, and second mapping restrictions of the second logical channel to at least one second cell,

identify that the PDCP duplication is configured for the radio bearer based on the parameter included in the message,

receive, from the base station, a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) indicating activation or deactivation of the PDCP duplication for the radio bearer configured with the PDCP duplication, and

transmit, to the base station, a power headroom report (PHR) in case that the MAC CE indicates activation of the PDCP duplication for the radio bearer, wherein the PHR is used to configure the first logical channel and the second logical channel to be mapped to cells that are not power limited,

wherein, in case that the MAC CE indicates activation of the PDCP duplication for the radio bearer and the first logical channel and the second logical channel belong to a same MAC entity, an original PDCP PDU is transmitted on a first carrier and a duplicated PDCP PDU is transmitted on a second carrier which is different from the first carrier based on the first mapping restrictions of the first logical channel and the second mapping restrictions of the second logical channel,

wherein, in case that the MAC CE indicates deactivation of the PDCP duplication for the radio bearer and the first logical channel and the second logical channel belong to the same MAC entity, the first mapping restrictions of the first logical channel and the second mapping restrictions of the second logical channel are lifted, and

wherein the MAC CE includes a bit corresponding to a bearer identifier of a radio bearer and indicating activation or deactivation of the PDCP duplication for the radio bearer.

15. A method by a base station, the method comprising:

transmitting, to a wireless device, a message including a parameter indicating that packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) duplication is configured for a radio bearer corresponding to a first logical channel and a second logical channel, first mapping restrictions of the first logical channel to at least one first cell, and second mapping restrictions of the second logical channel to at least one second cell;

identifying that the PDCP duplication is configured for the radio bearer based on the parameter included in the message;

transmitting, to the wireless device, a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) indicating activation or deactivation of the PDCP duplication for the radio bearer configured with the PDCP duplication; and

receiving, from the wireless device, a power headroom report (PHR) in case that the MAC CE indicates activation of the PDCP duplication for the radio bearer, wherein the PHR is used to configure the first logical channel and the second logical channel to be mapped to cells that are not power limited,

wherein, in case that the MAC CE indicates activation of the PDCP duplication for the radio bearer and the first logical channel and the second logical channel belong to a same MAC entity, an original PDCP PDU is transmitted on a first carrier and a duplicated PDCP PDU is transmitted on a second carrier which is different from the first carrier based on the first mapping restrictions of the first logical channel and the second mapping restrictions of the second logical channel,

wherein, in case that the MAC CE indicates deactivation of the PDCP duplication for the radio bearer and the first logical channel and the second logical channel belong to the same MAC entity, the first mapping restrictions of the first logical channel and the second mapping restrictions of the second logical channel are lifted, and

wherein the MAC CE includes a bit corresponding to a bearer identifier of a radio bearer and indicating activation or deactivation of the PDCP duplication for the radio bearer.

16. A base station comprising:

a transceiver; and

a processor coupled with the transceiver and configured to control to:

transmit, to a wireless device, a message including a parameter indicating that packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) duplication is configured for a radio bearer corresponding to a first logical channel and a second logical channel, first mapping restrictions of the first logical channel to at least one first cell, and second mapping restrictions of the second logical channel to at least one second cell,

identify that the PDCP duplication is configured for the radio bearer based on the parameter included in the message,

transmit, to the wireless device, a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) indicating activation or deactivation of the PDCP duplication for the radio bearer configured with the PDCP duplication, and

receive, from the wireless device, a power headroom report (PHR) in case that the MAC CE indicates activation of the PDCP duplication for the radio bearer, wherein the PHR is used to configure the first logical channel and the second logical channel to be mapped to cells that are not power limited,

wherein, in case that the MAC CE indicates activation of the PDCP duplication for the radio bearer and the first logical channel and the second logical channel belong to a same MAC entity, an original PDCP PDU is transmitted on a first carrier and a duplicated PDCP PDU is transmitted on a second carrier which is different from the first carrier based on the first mapping restrictions of the first logical channel and the second mapping restrictions of the second logical channel,

wherein, in case that the MAC CE indicates deactivation of the PDCP duplication for the radio bearer and the first logical channel and the second logical channel belong to the same MAC entity, the first mapping restrictions of the first logical channel and the second mapping restrictions of the second logical channel are lifted, and

wherein the MAC CE includes a bit corresponding to a bearer identifier of a radio bearer and indicating activation or deactivation of the PDCP duplication for the radio bearer.
