Portable hunting device for generating scented vapor
A portable device for use in hunting. The portable device includes a piezoelectric element to discharge a scented vapor stream into the atmosphere. The vapor stream can carry a scent for attracting animals and/or disguising human scent.
1. A portable device for attracting animals and/or disguising human scent during hunting, said device comprising:
a power source;
a reservoir containing a vaporizable agent, wherein the vaporizable agent contains a scent for attracting animals and/or disguising human scent;
a piezoelectric vaporizing element arranged in association with the vaporizable agent and capable of vaporizing at least a portion of the vaporizable agent using ultrasonic vibrations; and
a switch for selectively connecting the power source to the piezoelectric vaporizing element, thereby energizing the piezoelectric vaporizing element and generating a vapor stream carrying the scent for attracting animals and/or disguising human scent.
2. The portable device of claim 1 , wherein the switch is a momentary switch that shuts off power automatically after a predetermined period of time sufficient to cause the vapor stream to be discharged.
3. The portable device of claim 2 , further comprising an integrated microprocessor for operating the momentary switch.
4. The portable device of claim 1 , wherein the reservoir is carried in a replaceable cartridge that is removable from the portable device.
5. The portable device of claim 4 , wherein the vaporizing element is carried in the cartridge.
6. The portable device of claim 4 , wherein the power source and the cartridge are independently removable and replaceable.
7. The portable device of claim 4 , further comprising a housing within which the power source is received, wherein the cartridge is removable from the housing while the power source remains in the housing.
8. The portable device of claim 4 , wherein the replaceable cartridge comprises electrical connections, a threaded end portion, and a reservoir discharge passageway.
9. The portable device of claim 1 , further comprising a shell within which the power source is received, further comprising a movable cover on the shell for permitting direct access to the power source.
10. The portable device of claim 1 , wherein the power source comprises one or more rechargeable batteries, further comprising a charge indicator for providing an indication of the charge remaining in the rechargeable batteries.
11. The portable device of claim 10 , wherein the charge indicator comprises at least one light emitting component.
12. The portable device of claim 11 , wherein said light emitting component is an LED.
13. The portable device of claim 1 , wherein the piezoelectric vaporizing element is configured to atomize the vaporizable agent when the piezoelectric vaporizing element is energized.
14. The portable device of claim 1 , wherein the portable device comprises a fan for generating an airflow that carries the vapor stream into the atmosphere.
15. The portable device of claim 14 , wherein the switch is a pressure switch that is actuated by the airflow from the fan.
16. The portable device of claim 1 , wherein the switch is a momentary switch that shuts off power automatically after a predetermined period of time, wherein the reservoir is removable and replaceable, wherein the power source comprises one or more rechargeable batteries, further comprising a charge indicator for providing an indication of the charge remaining in the rechargeable batteries, wherein the piezoelectric vaporizing element is configured to atomize the vaporizable agent when the piezoelectric vaporizing element is energized.
17. A device for masking human odor or attracting an animal during hunting, said device comprising:
a scented liquid; and
a piezo element for atomizing the scented liquid.
18. The device of claim 17 , further comprising a liquid reservoir for holding the scented liquid, a battery, and a switch.
19. The device of claim 18 , wherein the switch is an electronic switch configured to selectively connect the battery to the piezo element.
