Abstract

A system for generating an image display comprising a digital camera for capturing digital images, a computer for automatically selecting a digital image template having a designated location for disposing one of the captured digital images, and the computer for selecting one of the captured digital images to be disposed therein, an electronic display for displaying the digital template with the captured digital image disposed in the designated location, and a transmission channel for transmitting to the electronic display the captured digital images.

Claims (19)

1. A method for providing an image enhanced output product, comprising;

receiving digital images at a computer system from a remote input station via a computer network, wherein the computer system comprises memory configured to store content and program data files, a processor configured to execute the content and program data files, and a digital communication system configured to connect the computer system to the computer network;

generating a template design for an image enhanced output product, wherein the template design corresponds to the received digital images;

transmitting the template design from the computer system to the remote input station via the digital communication system;

receiving template design instructions at the computer system from the remote input station, wherein the template design instructions comprise modifications to the template design;

rendering the enhanced output product based on the modified template design;

transmitting the rendered enhanced output product to the remote input station via the digital communication system;

receiving a selection of the rendered enhanced output product at the computer system from the remote input station;

producing the enhanced output product in accordance with the rendering at an output system, wherein the output system is coupled to the computer system.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the remote input station is connected to the output system and computer system via the communication network, and wherein the communication network is selected from the group consisting of: a conventional data transfer network, a cellular network, and peer-to-peer network.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the image enhanced output product is selected from the group of tangible products consisting of: a framed template, a clothing item, a greeting card, and a photo book.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the image enhanced output product is selected from the group of softcopy products consisting of: a screen saver, a digital greeting card, a digital picture frame, and an automatic digital presentation.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the template design corresponds to recorded metadata tags attached to the received digital images and the metadata tags correspond to a user selected capture mode.

6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the metadata tags further correspond to recorded metadata from image utilization devices, the recorded metadata from image utilization devices being selected from the group consisting of: print history, storage history, and editing history.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the remote input station comprises a hand carried camera or mounted stationary camera, and the computer system is connected to the camera via the computer network.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the remote input station comprises a device configured to receive an input from a user and convert the input into a computer process command.

9. The method of claim 8 , wherein remote input station is a remote control handheld device.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the template design comprises at least one feature selected from the group consisting of image window layout, image metadata parameters, and text annotation, and wherein the template design instructions received at the computer system comprise modification to at least one of the image window layout, the image metadata parameters, and the text annotation.

11. The method of claim 1 , wherein generating the template design comprises arranging the received digital images according to a particular template recipe stored in the computer system memory.
