Abstract

A projection fixture includes a lighting module that emits a light, and a projection module that projects an image. The projection fixture further includes a controller that controls operations of the lighting module and the projector module, where the light emitted by the lighting module is used for projecting the image and for illumination.

Claims (27)

1. A projection fixture, comprising:

a lighting module that emits a light;

a projection module that projects an image; and

a controller that controls operations of the lighting module and the projection module, wherein the controller is configured to control, in response to a user input, whether the light emitted by the lighting module is used for projecting the image in a first operation mode or for illumination in a second operation mode.

2. The projection fixture of claim 1 , wherein the controller is configured to control a position of the projection module such that the projection module is out of a path of the light when the light is used for illumination in the second operation mode.

3. The projection fixture of claim 1 , further comprising a power source that provides power to the lighting module and to the projection module.

4. The projection fixture of claim 3 , further comprising a transceiver that receives commands and images, wherein the controller is configured to use the commands received by the transceiver to control the operations of the projection fixture.

5. The projection fixture of claim 1 , wherein the projection module is configured to project the image based on a programmed time schedule.

6. A recessed projection fixture, comprising:

a projector device;

a mounting frame designed to be positioned behind a ceiling; and

a support bracket, wherein the projector device is positioned on the mounting frame, wherein the projector device is oriented to project an image toward a surface below the mounting frame, and wherein the support bracket is positioned to tilt the projector device to direct the image toward the surface.

7. The recessed projection fixture of claim 6 , further comprising a mirror positioned to reflect the image toward a second surface.

8. The recessed projection fixture of claim 7 , further comprising a mirror holder that holds the mirror.

9. The recessed projection fixture of claim 8 , wherein the mirror holder is integrally formed with the mounting frame.

10. The recessed projection fixture of claim 8 , further comprising a trim comprising the mirror holder.

11. The recessed projection fixture of claim 6 , further comprising a trim to be positioned at least partially in an opening of the ceiling, wherein the projector device is positioned to project the image through the trim.

12. The recessed projection fixture of claim 6 , further comprising a power receptacle configured to be connected to a power source, wherein a plug of a power cord is plugged into the power receptacle to provide power to the projector device.

13. A recessed projection fixture, comprising:

a projector device; and

a housing for recessed installation behind a ceiling, wherein the projector device is positioned at least partially inside the housing, wherein the projector device is oriented to project an image toward a surface below the housing, and wherein the projector device is attached to the housing in a tilted position to project the image toward the surface.

14. The recessed projection fixture of claim 13 , wherein the projector device is attached to the housing using one or more fasteners or torsions springs.

15. The recessed projection fixture of claim 13 , further comprising a mirror positioned to reflect the image toward a second surface.

16. The recessed projection fixture of claim 15 , further comprising a mirror holder that holds the mirror.

17. The recessed projection fixture of claim 16 , further comprising a trim comprising the mirror holder.

18. The recessed projection fixture of claim 13 , further comprising a trim, wherein the projector device is positioned to project the image through the trim.

19. The projection fixture of claim 1 , wherein the controller is configured to control a position of a diffuser such that the diffuser is out of a path of the image when the light is used for projecting the image.
