Abstract

An intelligent door lock system is provided with a push notification. A sensor is configured to be coupled to a drive shaft of a lock. The position sensing device senses position of the drive shaft to assist in locking and unlocking a lock of a lock. An engine with a memory is coupled to the positioning sensing device. The engine and an energy source are coupled to the circuit. A push notification is provided to a dwelling user when a lock of the intelligent door lock system is manually opened.

Claims (26)

1. An intelligent door lock system, comprising:

a door status device at a building, the door status device being coupled to a drive shaft of a lock device at the building to, in response to detecting each operation of a lock of the lock device, store in at least one log an event indicating the operation of the lock; and

at least one processor configured to carry out acts of:

processing the at least one log to determine whether the at least one log includes an event indicating the lock of the lock device has been manually operated; and

in response to determining that the at least one log includes an event indicating the lock of the lock device has been manually operated, triggering distribution of a push notification to at least one recipient including an alarm system, the push notification indicating the lock of the lock device has been manually operated and including a request to deactivate an alarm at the building.

2. The intelligent door lock system of claim 1 , wherein triggering distribution of the push notification in response to determining that the at least one log includes an event indicating the lock of the lock device has been manually operated comprises triggering distribution of the push notification in response to determining that the at least one log includes an event indicating the lock of the lock device has been opened via operation of a keypad.

3. The intelligent door lock system of claim 1 , wherein triggering distribution of the push notification in response to determining that the at least one log includes an event indicating the lock of the lock device has been manually operated comprises triggering distribution of the push notification in response to determining that the at least one log includes an event indicating the lock of the lock device has been opened using a key.

4. The intelligent door lock system of claim 1 , wherein triggering distribution of the push notification in response to determining that the at least one log includes an event indicating the lock of the lock device has been manually operated comprises triggering distribution of the push notification in response to determining that the at least one log includes an event indicating the lock of the lock device has been opened using a mechanism that cannot directly notify the at least one recipient.

5. The intelligent door lock system of claim 1 , wherein the door status device is configured to store in the at least one log an event indicating the operation of the lock at least in part by storing one or more bits of bit information indicating the operation of the lock.

6. The intelligent door lock system of claim 5 , wherein processing the at least one log to determine whether the at least one log includes an event indicating the lock of the lock device has been manually operated comprises processing the at least one log to determine whether the one or more bits of bit information indicating the operation of the lock correspond to an event indicating the lock of the lock device has been manually operated.

7. The intelligent door lock system of claim 1 , further comprising:

a wireless bridge, wherein the wireless bridge comprises the at least one processor.

8. The intelligent door lock system of claim 1 , wherein triggering distribution of the push notification comprises triggering distribution of the push notification to a mobile device.

9. The intelligent door lock system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one recipient comprises an occupant of the building and/or a third party provider of goods or services to the building.

10. A method of operating an intelligent door lock system comprising a door status device at a building, the door status device being coupled to a drive shaft of a lock device at the building, comprising:

using at least one processor to perform acts of:

processing at least one log to determine whether the at least one log includes an event indicating the lock of the lock device has been manually operated, the at least one log storing an event indicating operation of the lock for each operation of the lock of the lock device; and

in response to determining that the at least one log includes an event indicating the lock of the lock device has been manually operated, triggering distribution of a push notification to at least one recipient including an alarm system, the push notification indicating the lock of the lock device has been manually operated and including a request to deactivate an alarm at the building.

11. The method of claim 10 , wherein triggering distribution of the push notification in response to determining that the at least one log includes an event indicating the lock of the lock device has been manually operated comprises triggering distribution of the push notification in response to determining that the at least one log includes an event indicating the lock of the lock device has been opened via operation of a keypad.

12. The method of claim 10 , wherein triggering distribution of the push notification in response to determining that the at least one log includes an event indicating the lock of the lock device has been manually operated comprises triggering distribution of the push notification in response to determining that the at least one log includes an event indicating the lock of the lock device has been opened using a key.

13. The method of claim 10 , wherein triggering distribution of the push notification in response to determining that the at least one log includes an event indicating the lock of the lock device has been manually operated comprises triggering distribution of the push notification in response to determining that the at least one log includes an event indicating the lock of the lock device has been opened using a mechanism that cannot directly notify the at least one recipient.

14. The method of claim 10 , wherein the at least one log stores an event indicating the operation of the lock at least in part by storing one or more bits of bit information indicating the operation of the lock.

15. The method of claim 14 , wherein processing the at least one log to determine whether the at least one log includes an event indicating the lock of the lock device has been manually operated comprises processing the at least one log to determine whether the one or more bits of bit information indicating the operation of the lock correspond to an event indicating the lock of the lock device has been manually operated.

16. The method of claim 10 , wherein the at least one processor resides in a wireless bridge.

17. The method of claim 10 , wherein triggering distribution of the push notification comprises triggering distribution of the push notification to a mobile device.

18. The method of claim 10 , wherein the at least one recipient comprises an occupant of the building and/or a third party provider of goods or services to the building.
