Abstract

According to one embodiment, a backlight device includes a frame formed of a sheet material, a first adhesive layer provided on one surface of the frame, a reflective sheet attached to the frame with the first adhesive layer, an optical member disposed on the reflective sheet in the frame, and a light source disposed in the frame and configured to emit light to the optical member. In at least a part of the frame, a width of the frame and a width of the first adhesive layer are equal to each other, and at least an external surface of the frame and an external surface of the first adhesive layer are flush with each other.

Claims (73)

1. A display device comprising:

a liquid crystal display panel; and

a backlight device opposed to a back surface of the liquid crystal display panel,

the backlight device comprising:

a frame formed of a sheet material and comprising at least four bars;

a first adhesive layer provided on a back surface of the four bars;

a reflective sheet attached to the frame with the first adhesive layer;

a second adhesive layer provided on a front surface opposed to the back surface of the four bars;

an optical member disposed on the reflective sheet in the frame; and

a light source unit comprising a printed circuit board, and a light source disposed on the printed circuit board, in the frame and configured to emit light to the optical member,

wherein

a thickness of the second adhesive layer provided on three bars is greater than a thickness of the second adhesive layer provided on another one of the bars;

a part of the printed circuit board is adhered to the another one of the bars by the second adhesive layer;

in at least a part of the frame,

at least an external surface of the frame and an external surface of the first adhesive layer are flush with each other.

2. The display device of claim 1 , wherein an external surface of the reflective sheet is flush with the external surfaces of the first adhesive layer and the frame.

3. The display device of claim 1 , wherein

a width of each of the bars and the width of the first adhesive layer are equal to each other, and

an external surface and an internal surface of the bar are flush with the external surface and an internal surface of the first adhesive layer, respectively.

4. The display device of claim 1 ,

wherein, in at least a part of the frame, the width of the frame and a width of the second adhesive layer are equal to each other, and

the external surface of the frame and an external surface of the second adhesive layer are flush with each other.

The display device of claim 4 , wherein the optical member includes a light guide plate provided on the reflective sheet and an optical sheet disposed on the light guide plate, the optical sheet comprises a peripheral portion covering a gap between the light guide plate and the frame, and the peripheral portion is attached to the frame with the second adhesive layer.

6. The display device of claim 5 , wherein, the frame includes bars, the external surface of the one of the bars and an external surface of the optical sheet are flush with each other.

7. A display device comprising:

a liquid crystal display panel; and

a backlight device opposed to a back surface of the liquid crystal display panel, the backlight device comprising:

a frame formed of a sheet material and comprising at least four bars;

a first adhesive layer provided on a back surface of the four bars;

a reflective sheet attached to the frame with the first adhesive layer;

a second adhesive layer provided on a front surface opposed to the back surface of the four bars;

an optical member disposed on the reflective sheet in the frame; and

a light source unit comprising a printed circuit board, and a light source disposed on the printed circuit board, in the frame and configured to emit light to the optical member,

wherein

a thickness of the second adhesive layer provided on three bars is greater than a thickness of the second adhesive layer provided on another one of the bars;

a part of the printed circuit board is adhered to the another one of the bars by the second adhesive layer;

in at least a part of the frame,

at least an external surface of the frame, an external surface of the first adhesive layer, and an external surface of the reflective sheet are flush with each other.

8. The display device of claim 7 , wherein

a width of each of the bars and the width of the first adhesive layer are equal to each other, and

an external surface and an internal surface of the bar are flush with the external surface and an internal surface of the first adhesive layer, respectively.

9. The device of claim 7 , wherein the frame has a thickness of 0.4 mm or less.

10. The display device of claim 7 ,

wherein, in at least a part of the frame, the width of the frame and a width of the second adhesive layer are equal to each other, and

the external surface of the frame and an external surface of the second adhesive layer are flush with each other.

11. The display device of claim 10 , wherein the optical member includes a light guide plate provided on the reflective sheet and an optical sheet disposed on the light guide plate, the optical sheet comprises a peripheral portion covering a gap between the light guide plate and the frame, and

the peripheral portion is attached to the frame with the second adhesive layer.

12. The display device of claim 11 , wherein, the external surface of the one of the bars and an external surface of the optical sheet are flush with each other.

13. A display device comprising:

a liquid crystal display panel; and

a backlight device opposed to a back surface of the liquid crystal display panel, the backlight device comprising:

a frame formed of a sheet material and comprising at least four bars;

a first adhesive layer provided on a back surface of the four bars;

a reflective sheet attached to the frame with the first adhesive layer;

a second adhesive layer provided on a front surface opposed to the back surface of the four bars;

an optical member disposed on the reflective sheet in the frame; and

a light source unit comprising a printed circuit board, and a light source disposed on the printed circuit board, in the frame and configured to emit light to the optical member,

wherein

a thickness of the second adhesive layer provided on three bars is greater than a thickness of the second adhesive layer provided on another one of the bars;

a part of the printed circuit board is adhered to the another one of the bars by the second adhesive layer;

in at least a part of the frame,

a width of the frame and a width of the first adhesive layer are equal to each other.

14. The display device of claim 13 , wherein in at least a part of the frame, at least an external surface of the frame, an external surface of the first adhesive layer are flush with each other.

15. The display device of claim 14 , wherein an external surface of the reflective sheet is flush with the external surfaces of the first adhesive layer and the frame.

16. The display device of claim 13 , wherein the frame has a thickness of 0.4 mm or less.

17. The display device of claim 13 , wherein the frame comprises bars, and a width of each of the bars and the width of the first adhesive layer are equal to each other, and an external surface and an internal surface of the bar are flush with the external surface and an internal surface of the first adhesive layer, respectively.

18. The display device of claim 13 ,

wherein, in at least a part of the frame, the width of the frame and a width of the second adhesive layer are equal to each other, and

the external surface of the frame and an external surface of the second adhesive layer are flush with each other.

19. The display device of claim 13 , wherein

in the three bars of the frame,

the width of the frame and a width of the second adhesive layer are equal to each other, and

the external surface and an internal surface of the frame are flush with an external surface and an internal surface of the second adhesive layer, respectively.
