Abstract

In at least one aspect, a method comprises: receiving information associated with a plurality of scheduled actions, each of the plurality of scheduled actions defining a device to be controlled, an action to be carried out with respect to the device to be controlled, a scheduled day on which to carry out the scheduled action and a scheduled time of day to carry out the scheduled action on the scheduled day; determining a chronological ordering that indicates a chronological order in which at least a subset of the plurality of scheduled actions are scheduled to be carried out; generating a view based at least in part on the chronological ordering; and displaying the generated view. Such methods may be performed or implemented by various devices, apparatuses and/or systems.

Claims (38)

1. A method comprising:

receiving, in one or more computing devices, information associated with a plurality of scheduled actions, each of the plurality of scheduled actions defining a device to be controlled, an action to be carried out with respect to the device to be controlled, a scheduled day on which to carry out the scheduled action and a scheduled time of day to carry out the scheduled action on the scheduled day;

determining, by the one or more computing devices, a chronological ordering that indicates a chronological order in which at least a subset of the plurality of scheduled actions are scheduled to be carried out;

determining, by the one or more computing devices, two or more scheduled actions included in the subset are scheduled to be carried out at the same time on the same day;

generating, by the one or more computing devices, a view based at least in part on the chronological ordering, the view including a single entry to represent the two or more scheduled actions scheduled to be carried out at the same time on the same day; and

displaying, in a user interface, the generated view,

wherein the view further includes operating information associated with the device to be controlled.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein each one of the plurality of scheduled actions in the subset is represented by an entry in the chronological ordering that is located at a position in the chronological ordering that is based at least in part on the scheduled time of day defined by the one of the plurality of scheduled actions.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the subset includes each of the plurality of scheduled actions that are scheduled to be carried out on a current day.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the view indicates a chronologic order of scheduled actions included in said subset.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the view includes a graphical tool activatable by a user to request display of said chronologic order.

6. A non-transitory computer-readable medium having computer-readable instructions stored thereon that if executed by a computing system, perform a method comprising:

receiving, in one or more computing devices, information associated with a plurality of scheduled actions, each of the plurality of scheduled actions defining a device to be controlled, an action to be carried out with respect to the device to be controlled, a scheduled day on which to carry out the scheduled action and a scheduled time of day to carry out the scheduled action on the scheduled day;

determining, by the one or more computing devices, a chronological ordering that indicates a chronological order in which at least a subset of the plurality of scheduled actions are scheduled to be carried out;

determining, by the one or more computing devices, two or more scheduled actions included in the subset are scheduled to be carried out at the same time on the same day;

generating, by the one or more computing devices, a view based at least in part on the chronological ordering, the view including a single entry to represent the two or more scheduled actions to be carried out at the same time on the same day; and

displaying, in a user interface, the generated view,

wherein the view further includes operating information associated with the device to be controlled.

7. The medium of claim 6 , wherein each one of the plurality of scheduled actions in the subset is represented by an entry in the chronological ordering that is located at a position in the chronological ordering that is based at least in part on the scheduled time of day defined by the one of the plurality of scheduled actions.

8. The medium of claim 6 , wherein the subset includes each of the plurality of scheduled actions that are scheduled to be carried out on a current day.

9. The medium of claim 8 , wherein the view indicates a chronologic order of scheduled actions included in said subset.

10. The medium of claim 9 , wherein the view includes a graphical tool activatable by a user to request display of said chronologic order.

11. A computing device, comprising:

one or more processors; and

one or more memory device storing computer-readable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to performs operations, the operations comprising:

receiving information associated with a plurality of scheduled actions, each of the plurality of scheduled actions defining a device to be controlled, an action to be carried out with respect to the device to be controlled, a scheduled day on which to carry out the scheduled action and a scheduled time of day to carry out the scheduled action on the scheduled day;

determining a chronological ordering that indicates a chronological order in which at least a subset of the plurality of scheduled actions are scheduled to be carried out;

determining two or more scheduled actions included in the subset are scheduled to be carried out at the same time on the same day;

generating a view based at least in part on the chronological ordering, the view including a single entry to represent the two or more scheduled actions to be carried out at the same time on the same day; and

displaying the generated view,

wherein the view further includes operating information associated with the device to be controlled.

12. The computing device of claim 11 , wherein each one of the plurality of scheduled actions in the subset is represented by an entry in the chronological ordering that is located at a position in the chronological ordering that is based at least in part on the scheduled time of day defined by the one of the plurality of scheduled actions.

13. The computing device of claim 11 , wherein the subset includes each of the plurality of scheduled actions that are scheduled to be carried out on a current day.

14. The computing device of claim 13 , wherein the view indicates a chronologic order of scheduled actions included in said subset.

15. The computing device of claim 14 , wherein the view includes a graphical tool activatable by a user to request display of said chronologic order.

16. The method of claim 1 , wherein the operating information includes one or more selected from the group consisting of an amount of power drawn by the device to be controlled, an average daily usage of the device to be controlled, and an estimate of a cost that is incurred to operate the device to be controlled.

17. The medium of claim 6 , wherein the operating information includes one or more selected from the group consisting of an amount of power drawn by the device to be controlled, an average daily usage of the device to be controlled, and an estimate of a cost that is incurred to operate the device to be controlled.

18. The computing device of claim 11 , wherein the operating information includes one or more selected from the group consisting of an amount of power drawn by the device to be controlled, an average daily usage of the device to be controlled, and an estimate of a cost that is incurred to operate the device to be controlled.
