Abstract

A system is provided for decomposing events from managed infrastructures. A first engine is configured to receive message data from a managed infrastructure that includes managed infrastructure physical hardware that supports the flow and processing of information, the at least one engine is configured to determine common characteristics of events and produce clusters of events relating to the failure of errors in the managed infrastructure. Membership in a cluster indicates a common factor of the events that is a failure or an actionable problem in a physical hardware of the managed infrastructure directed to supporting the flow and processing of information. The first engine is configured to create one or more situations that is a collection of one or more events or alerts representative of the actionable problem in the managed infrastructure. A second engine is configured to determine one or more common steps from events and produces clusters relating to events. The second engine determines one or more common characteristics of events and produces clusters of events relating to the failure or errors in the managed infrastructure. An anomaly engine is configured to perform bitwise operations.

Claims (30)

1. A system for clustering events, comprising:

a first engine receiving message data from managed infrastructure that includes managed infrastructure physical hardware that supports the flow and processing of information, the first determining common characteristics of events and produce clusters of events relating to failure of errors in the managed infrastructure, where membership in a cluster indicates a common factor of the events that is a failure or an actionable problem in the physical hardware managed infrastructure directed to supporting the flow and processing of information, the at least one engine creating one or more situations that is a collection of one or more events or alerts representative of the actionable problem in the managed infrastructure, the first engine including a processor; a memory; and an input/output controller, a display, a storage device, a software system stored in the memory that directs operation of a relevant engine and an operating system;

a second engine coupled to the first engine determining one or more common steps from events and produces clusters relating to events, the second engine determining one or more common characteristics of events and producing clusters of events relating to the failure or errors in the managed infrastructure, the second engine including a processor; a memory; and an input/output controller, a display, a storage device, a software system stored in the memory that directs operation of a relevant engine and an operating system;

an operating system included with the first engine and operating to provide at least one of: a textual, and numeric values, and if they are similar relative to the analyzed monitored events, and it is determined that a collection of events share an attribute, one or more output of clusters is created, and in response to production of the clusters one or more physical changes in a managed infrastructure physical hardware is made, membership in a cluster indicates a common factor of the events that is a failure or an actionable problem in the physical hardware managed infrastructure directed to supporting the flow and processing of information;

an anomaly engine coupled to the first and second engines is performing bitwise operations that allows a greater amount of information to be processed in one operation; and

wherein the textual and numeric values indicate a state of a hardware component of the managed infrastructure to make a change to a managed infrastructure physical hardware component.

2. The system of claim 1 , further comprising:

an agent technology system detects anomalies prior to generating an event.

3. The system of claim 1 , further comprising:

a managed server coupled to the statistical analytical engine.

4. The system of claim 3 , further comprising:

an ATOps server coupled to the statistical analytical engine.

5. The system of claim 1 , further comprising:

a cloud system in communication with the statistical analytical engine.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the statistical analytical analytic engine executes a collection of software components.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the collection of software components includes one or more statistical algorithms.

8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the statistical analytical analytic engine includes a platform.

9. The system of claim 8 , wherein the platform conducts discovery.

10. The system of claim 2 , wherein 1 statistical analytical engine executes a collection of agent technology system tasks.

11. The system of claim 10 , wherein the collection of agent technology system tasks is configurable.

12. The system of claim 10 , wherein the collection of agent technology system tasks probe hardware of a managed infrastructure.

13. The system of claim 10 , wherein the collection of agent technology system tasks probe hardware of a managed infrastructure.

14. The system of claim 13 , wherein the collection of agent technology system tasks probe hardware of a managed infrastructure that are used to compare against templates to identify a managed infrastructure hardware element.

15. The system of claim 2 , wherein a statistical analytical analytic engine communicates with an agent technology system monitoring policy.

16. The system of claim 15 , wherein the statistical analytical analytic engine includes the agent technology system monitoring policy.

17. The system of claim 15 , wherein the agent technology system monitoring policy instructs one or more agents.

18. The system of claim 1 , wherein statistical analytical analytic engine polls for data.

19. The system of claim 1 , wherein statistical analytical analytic engine receiving data relative to a managed infrastructure.

20. The system of claim 1 , further comprising:

a plurality of data centers.
