Abstract

A dental impression kit includes a container including a dental assembly that includes a dental tray and a predetermined amount of base putty and catalyst putty, where the base putty and the catalyst putty are mixable to form a putty mixture, and the predetermined amount of base putty and catalyst putty are amounts sufficient such that the putty mixture can be positioned in the dental tray for creating a dental impression. The dental impression kit includes instructions instructing a user to administer the dental assembly to create the dental impression, where the dental impression provides information necessary to manufacture a plurality of dental aligners specific to the user and being configured to reposition one or more teeth of the user, and where the predetermined amounts of the base putty and the catalyst putty are in the range of 0.5 ounces and 1.5 ounces.

Claims (56)

1 . A dental impression kit comprising:

a container including a dental assembly, the dental assembly including a dental tray, a predetermined amount of base putty, and a predetermined amount of catalyst putty, the base putty and the catalyst putty being mixable to form a putty mixture, the predetermined amount of base putty and the predetermined amount of catalyst putty are amounts sufficient such that the putty mixture can be positioned in the dental tray for creating a dental impression; and

instructions instructing a user to:

mix the predetermined amount of base putty and the predetermined amount of catalyst putty to form the putty mixture;

position the putty mixture in the dental tray;

position the dental tray with the putty mixture in the user's mouth to create the dental impression; and

return the dental assembly including the dental impression;

wherein the dental impression provides information necessary to manufacture a plurality of dental aligners specific to the user and being configured to reposition one or more teeth of the user; and

wherein the predetermined amount of base putty is in the range of 0.5 ounces and 1.5 ounces and the predetermined amount of catalyst putty is in the range of 0.5 ounces and 1.5 ounces.

2 . The dental impression kit of claim 1 , wherein the predetermined amount of base putty is in the range of 0.88 ounces and 0.92 ounces and the predetermined amount of catalyst putty is in the range of 0.88 ounces and 0.92 ounces.

3 . The dental impression kit of claim 1 , wherein the predetermined amount of base putty is in the range of 0.80 ounces and 0.90 ounces and the predetermined amount of catalyst putty is in the range of 0.80 ounces and 0.90 ounces.

4 . The dental impression kit of claim 1 , wherein the predetermined amount of base putty is an amount greater than the predetermined amount of catalyst putty.

5 . The dental impression kit of claim 1 , wherein the predetermined amount of catalyst putty is an amount greater than the predetermined amount of base putty.

6 . The dental impression kit of claim 1 , wherein the predetermined amount of catalyst putty is the same amount as the predetermined amount of base putty.

7 . The dental impression kit of claim 1 , wherein the predetermined amount of catalyst putty is substantially the same the amount as the predetermined amount of base putty.

8 . The dental impression kit of claim 1 , wherein the predetermined amount of catalyst putty and the predetermined amount of base putty are each separately contained in respective putty containers, the putty containers sealed by at least one of plastic film, foil, glue, a snap seal cap.

9 . The dental impression kit of claim 1 , wherein the predetermined amount of catalyst putty and the predetermined amount of base putty are each separately contained in respective putty cups, wherein the putty cups are hermetically sealed.

The dental impression kit of claim 1 , wherein the dental assembly is a first dental assembly, and wherein the container further includes a second dental assembly including a second dental tray, an additional predetermined amount of catalyst putty, and an additional predetermined amount of base putty, and wherein the instructions further instruct the user to:

mix the additional predetermined amount of catalyst putty mixture with the additional predetermined amount of base to form additional putty mixture;

position the additional putty mixture in the second dental tray; and

position the second dental tray in the user's mouth to create a second dental impression in the additional putty mixture.

The dental impression kit of claim 10 , wherein the first dental assembly is an initial dental assembly for creating an initial dental impression of a first dental arch of the user, and wherein the second dental assembly is a redundant dental assembly for creating a redundant dental impression of the first dental arch of the user.

12 . The dental impression kit of claim 10 , wherein the first dental assembly is for creating a dental impression of a first dental arch of the user, and wherein the second dental assembly is for creating a dental impression of a second dental arch of the user.

13 . The dental impression kit of claim 12 , wherein the first dental assembly is of a first specific size to create a dental impression of an upper dental arch of the user, and wherein the second dental assembly is of a second specific size to create a dental impression of a lower dental arch of the user.

14 . A method of administering a dental impression kit, the method comprising:

receiving a container including a dental assembly, the dental assembly including a dental tray, a predetermined amount of base putty, and a predetermined amount of catalyst putty, the base putty and the catalyst putty being mixable to form a putty mixture, the predetermined amount of base putty and the predetermined amount of catalyst putty are amounts sufficient such that the putty mixture can be positioned in the dental tray for creating a dental impression; and

mixing the predetermined amount of base putty and the predetermined amount of catalyst putty to form the putty mixture according to instructions;

positioning the putty mixture in the dental tray according to the instructions;

positioning the dental tray with the putty mixture in a user's mouth to create the dental impression according to the instructions; and

returning the dental assembly including the dental impression according to the instructions;

wherein the dental impression provides information necessary to manufacture a plurality of dental aligners specific to the user and being configured to reposition one or more teeth of the user; and

wherein the predetermined amount of base putty is in the range of 0.5 ounces and 1.5 ounces and the predetermined amount of catalyst putty is in the range of 0.5 ounces and 1.5 ounces.

15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the predetermined amount of base putty is in the range of 0.88 ounces and 0.92 ounces and the predetermined amount of catalyst putty is in the range of 0.88 ounces and 0.92 ounces.

16 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the predetermined amount of base putty is in the range of 0.80 ounces and 0.90 ounces and the predetermined amount of catalyst putty is in the range of 0.80 ounces and 0.90 ounces.

17 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the predetermined amount of base putty is an amount greater than the predetermined amount of catalyst putty.

18 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the predetermined amount of catalyst putty is an amount greater than the predetermined amount of base putty.

19 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the predetermined amount of catalyst putty is the same amount as the predetermined amount of base putty.

20 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the predetermined amount of catalyst putty is substantially the same the amount as the predetermined amount of base putty.

21 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the predetermined amount of catalyst putty and the predetermined amount of base putty are each separately contained in respective putty containers, the putty containers sealed by at least one of plastic film, foil, glue, a snap seal cap.

22 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the predetermined amount of catalyst putty and the predetermined amount of base putty are each separately contained in respective putty cups, wherein the putty cups are hermetically sealed.

23 . The method of claim 14 , further comprising receiving the plurality of dental aligners specific to the user and being configured to reposition one or more teeth of the user.

24 . A dental impression kit comprising:

a container including a first dental assembly and a second dental assembly, the first dental assembly and the second dental assembly each including a dental tray, a predetermined amount of base putty, and a predetermined amount of catalyst putty, the base putty and the catalyst putty being mixable to form a putty mixture, the predetermined amount of base putty and the predetermined amount of catalyst putty are amounts sufficient such that the putty mixture can be positioned in one of the dental trays for creating a dental impression; and

instructions instructing a user to, for each of the first dental assembly and the second dental assembly:

mix the predetermined amount of base putty and the predetermined amount of catalyst putty to form the putty mixture;

position the putty mixture in the dental tray;

position the dental tray with the putty mixture in the user's mouth to create the dental impression; and

return the dental assembly including the dental impression;

wherein the dental impressions provide information necessary to manufacture a plurality of dental aligners specific to the user and being configured to reposition one or more teeth of the user; and

wherein the predetermined amount of base putty is in the range of 0.5 ounces and 1.5 ounces and the predetermined amount of catalyst putty is in the range of 0.5 ounces and 1.5 ounces.

25 . The dental impression kit of claim 24 , wherein the predetermined amount of base putty is in the range of 0.88 ounces and 0.92 ounces and the predetermined amount of catalyst putty is in the range of 0.88 ounces and 0.92 ounces.

The dental impression kit of claim 24 , wherein the first dental assembly is an initial dental assembly for creating an initial dental impression of one of an upper dental arch of the user or a lower dental arch of the user, and wherein the second dental assembly is a redundant dental assembly for creating a redundant dental impression of the one of an upper dental arch of the user or a lower dental arch of the user.

27 . The dental impression kit of claim 24 , wherein the first dental assembly is for creating a dental impression of a first dental arch of the user, and wherein the second dental assembly is for creating a dental impression of a second dental arch of the user.

28 . The dental impression kit of claim 27 , wherein the first dental arch of the user and the second dental arch of the user are the same dental arch of the user.

29 . The dental impression kit of claim 27 , wherein the dental tray of the first dental assembly is of a first specific size to create a dental impression of an upper dental arch of the user, and wherein the dental tray of the second dental assembly is of a second specific size to create a dental impression of a lower dental arch of the user.

30 . The dental impression kit of claim 29 , wherein the predetermined amount of base putty and the predetermined amount of catalyst putty for the first dental assembly is greater than the predetermined amount of base putty and the predetermined amount of catalyst putty for the second dental assembly.
