Abstract

A system for determining occurrence of an event and for issuing notifications responsive thereto. The system comprises a first component for storing reference parameters for use in determining occurrence of the event and a a sensor for determining real-time parameters that would be indicative of the occurrence of the event. An analysis component for compares the reference parameters and the real-time parameters. A communications component issues a notification responsive to detection of the event and an event-driven event management network is established responsive to the notification.

Claims (37)

1 . A system for determining occurrence of an event and for issuing notifications responsive thereto, the system comprising:

a first component for storing reference parameters for use in determining occurrence of the event;

a sensor for determining real-time parameters that would be indicative of the occurrence of the event;

an analysis component for comparing the reference parameters and the real-time parameters;

a communications component for issuing a notification responsive to an analysis executed by the analysis component; and

a social network established responsive to the notification,

2 . The system of claim 1 the notification sent to one or more members of the social network or issued to one or more predetermined persons.

3 . The system of claim 1 wherein the social network comprises a plurality of communicatively-connected entities.

4 . The system of claim 3 wherein the entities communicate through a server or communicate using a peer-to-peer protocol, a point-to-point protocol, or via a cloud-based communications protocol.

5 . The system of claim 1 wherein the real-time parameters comprise medical parameters of a monitored person, and the event relates to a medical condition of the monitored person, and wherein members of the network comprise networked persons and medical professionals.

6 . The system of claim 5 wherein the networked persons and the medical professionals can access and upload the real-time parameters.

7 . The system of claim 1 wherein access to the real time parameters is governed by a blockchain.

8 . The system of claim 1 wherein the social network comprises networked persons having access to the real-time parameters, wherein each one of the networked persons can store and duplicate the real-time parameters locally.

9 . The system of claim 8 wherein the real-time parameters stored locally by a networked person self-destruct responsive to the networked person leaving the network.

10 . The system of claim 1 a first networked member of the social network to respond to the notification designated a first responder, the first responder having a personal electronic device that notifies other networked members of the social network without intervention of the first responder.

11 . The system of claim 10 an app resident on the personal electronic device of the first responder automatically controlling notification to other networked members of the social network.

12 . The system of claim 10 networked members of the social network notified according to a notification hierarchy.

13 . The system of claim 1 the notification provided according to a cellular LTE protocol, over low bandwidth cellular channels, a WiFi protocol, or according to a Bluetooth low energy protocol.

14 . The system of claim 1 for determining the occurrence of the event related to a monitored person, the social network comprising one or more family members of the monitored person, healthcare professionals, and caretakers, a first party to respond to the notification considered a first responder and capable of sending the notification to one or more additional parties.

15 . The system of claim 1 the notification issued to a first person and if the first person does not respond to the notification after a predetermined roll-over time, the notification issued to a second person.

16 . The system of claim 1 the social network comprising a chat group, all communications to or from any member of the chat group provided to all members of the chat group.

17 . The system of claim 16 wherein a member of the chat group communicates with another member of the chat group via a text message, via an email message, or via voice.

18 . The system of claim 1 information related to the event available to all members of the social network.

19 . The system of claim 18 the information stored centrally or stored in a distributed manner.

20 . The system of claim 1 members of the social network receiving additional information related to the event.

21 . The system of claim 20 the event comprising a medical condition of a monitored person, the additional information comprising one or more of measured medical parameters, heart rate, blood pressure, blood glucose level, body temperature, diagnoses, prognosis, mental conditions, brain activity.

22 . The system of claim 1 wherein the communications component comprises a landline telephone dialer, a cellular telephone dialer, and an internet communications interface.

23 . The system of claim 1 the notification issued to all persons having a software-based “app” on a personal electronic device.

24 . The system of clam 1 members of the social network receiving real-time parameters as determined by the sensor after the notification has been issued.

25 . The system of claim 1 the social network comprising networked members, one or more networked members each identifying a subject related to the event, each networked member receiving real-time parameters related to the subject.

26 . The system of claim 1 the notification received on a personal electronic device of one or more members of the social network.

27 . The system of claim 1 the notification issued to a first member of the social network and if the first member does not respond to the notification after a predetermined roll-over time, the notification issued to a second member of the network.

28 . A system for establishing a network of members responsive to the occurrence of an emergency event, the system comprising:

a sensor for determining real-time parameters that would be indicative of the occurrence of the emergency event;

an analysis component for analyzing the real-time parameters to determine occurrence of the emergency event;

a communications component for issuing a notification responsive to the analysis component determining occurrence of the emergency event; and

a social network established responsive to the notification, the social network comprising a data store for storing information related to the emergency event, all members of the network having access to the data store, and each member of the network communicatively coupled to all other members of the network.
