Abstract

A method, computer program product, and computing system for rendering content is executed on a computing device and includes receiving a request to render clinical content during a patient encounter. If it is determined that the clinical content includes sensitive content, a complete version of the clinical content is rendered on a first device (wherein the complete version of the clinical content includes the sensitive content) and a limited version of the clinical content on a second device (wherein the limited version of the clinical content excludes the sensitive content).

Claims (51)

1 . A computer-implemented method for rendering content, executed on a computing device, comprising:

receiving a request to render clinical content during a patient encounter;

determining if the clinical content includes sensitive content; and

if the clinical content includes sensitive content, rendering:

a complete version of the clinical content on a first device, wherein the complete version of the clinical content includes the sensitive content, and

a limited version of the clinical content on a second device, wherein the limited version of the clinical content excludes the sensitive content.

2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein the first device is a private device available only to one or more medical professionals of the patient encounter.

3 . The computer-implemented method of claim 2 wherein the private device is a visual private device.

4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 2 wherein the private device is an audible private device.

5 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein the second device is a public device available to all encounter participants of the patient encounter.

6 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein the second device is a visual public device.

7 . The computer-implemented method of claim 2 wherein the sensitive content includes one or more of:

sensitive image-based content;

sensitive text-based content;

sensitive prognosis-based content;

sensitive diagnosis-based content; and

sensitive complication-based content.

8 . A computer program product residing on a computer readable medium having a plurality of instructions stored thereon which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:

receiving a request to render clinical content during a patient encounter;

determining if the clinical content includes sensitive content; and

if the clinical content includes sensitive content, rendering:

a complete version of the clinical content on a first device, wherein the complete version of the clinical content includes the sensitive content, and

a limited version of the clinical content on a second device, wherein the limited version of the clinical content excludes the sensitive content.

9 . The computer program product of claim 8 wherein the first device is a private device available only to one or more medical professionals of the patient encounter.

10 . The computer program product of claim 9 wherein the private device is a visual private device.

11 . The computer program product of claim 9 wherein the private device is an audible private device.

12 . The computer program product of claim 8 wherein the second device is a public device available to all encounter participants of the patient encounter.

13 . The computer program product of claim 8 wherein the second device is a visual public device.

14 . The computer program product of claim 9 wherein the sensitive content includes one or more of:

sensitive image-based content;

sensitive text-based content;

sensitive prognosis-based content;

sensitive diagnosis-based content; and

sensitive complication-based content.

15 . A computing system including a processor and memory configured to perform operations comprising:

receiving a request to render clinical content during a patient encounter;

determining if the clinical content includes sensitive content; and

if the clinical content includes sensitive content, rendering:

a complete version of the clinical content on a first device, wherein the complete version of the clinical content includes the sensitive content, and

a limited version of the clinical content on a second device, wherein the limited version of the clinical content excludes the sensitive content.

16 . The computing system of claim 15 wherein the first device is a private device available only to one or more medical professionals of the patient encounter.

17 . The computing system of claim 16 wherein the private device is a visual private device.

18 . The computing system of claim 16 wherein the private device is an audible private device.

19 . The computing system of claim 15 wherein the second device is a public device available to all encounter participants of the patient encounter.

20 . The computing system of claim 15 wherein the second device is a visual public device.

21 . The computing system of claim 16 wherein the sensitive content includes one or more of:

sensitive image-based content;

sensitive text-based content;

sensitive prognosis-based content;

sensitive diagnosis-based content; and

sensitive complication-based content.
