Abstract

Devices, systems, and methods of determining or estimating personal characteristics of a user as well as for detecting user identity, differentiating between users of a computerized service, and detecting a possible attacker. A method includes monitoring interactions monitoring interactions of a particular user with an input-unit of an electronic device and with an entirety of the electronic device; analyzing the interactions; and based on analysis of the monitored interactions, determining a gender or an age-range of the particular user. Optionally, advertisements are tailored or selected based on the estimated gender or age-range of the particular user. Optionally, an online transaction is flagged or blocked, or is authorized, based on the estimated gender or age-range of the particular user.

Claims (79)

1 . A method comprising:

(a) monitoring interactions of a particular user with an input-unit of an electronic device and with an entirety of the electronic device;

(b) analyzing the interactions, and determining from said interactions a gender and an age-range of said particular user.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

based on said gender and said age, triggering a possible-fraud notification with regard to a transaction performed by said particular user.

3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

based on said gender and said age, selecting a particular advertisement to be displayed to said particular user, from a pool of advertisements.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the gender of said particular user based on a typing speed of said particular user.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the gender of said particular user based on a typing accuracy of said particular user.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the gender of said particular user based on a characteristic of mouse-wheel usage by said particular user.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the gender of said particular user based on a number of mouse-movement that were performed by said particular user to complete a particular task.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the gender of said particular user based on an average mouse-click speed of said particular user.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the gender of said particular user based on a speed in which said particular user repeatedly and consecutively types a particular character.

10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the gender of said particular user based on a characteristic of a mouse-movement that said particular user performs in response to disappearance of an on-screen pointer.

11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the gender of said particular user based on a characteristic of a mouse-movement that said particular user performs in response to an on-screen pointer being temporarily non-responsive.

12 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the gender of said particular user based on a characteristic of keystrokes that said particular user performs in response an interference that causes a keyboard to appear non-responsive.

13 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the gender of said particular user based on an angle that said electronic device forms relative to the ground while being held by said particular user.

14 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the gender of said particular user based on a tilt-angle that said electronic device forms relative to a perfect landscape mode while being held by said particular user.

15 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the gender of said particular user based on a level of shakiness that said electronic device senses while being held by said particular user.

16 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the gender of said particular user based on a number of selfie photos that said particular user takes via the electronic device within a pre-defined time-period.

17 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the gender of said particular user based on a number of photographs that said particular user takes via the electronic device within a pre-defined time-period.

18 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the gender of said particular user based on a number of online transactions that said particular user performs via said electronic device during a pre-defined time-period that correspond to regular business hours at the geographic location of said electronic device.

19 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the gender of said particular user based on a maximum size of a fingerprint of said particular user as measured in one or more touch-events on a touch-screen of said electronic device.

20 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the gender of said particular user based on an average size of a fingerprint of said particular user as measured in one or more touch-events on a touch-screen of said electronic device.

21 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the age-range of said particular user based on a typing speed of said particular user.

22 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the age-range of said particular user based on a typing accuracy of said particular user.

23 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the age-range of said particular user based on utilization of keyboard shortcuts by said particular user.

24 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the age-range of said particular user based on speed of movement of an on-screen pointer that is controlled by said particular user.

25 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the age-range of said particular user based on speed of mouse-clicks performed by said particular user.

26 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the age-range of said particular user based on a number of usage-sessions of said particular user with said electronic device within a pre-defined time-period.

27 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the age-range of said particular user based on an average time-length of usage-sessions of said particular user with said electronic device.

28 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the age-range of said particular user based on detecting a particular time-period in which said electronic device is inactive on a daily basis across multiple days.

29 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the age-range of said particular user based on a number of selfie photos that said particular user takes via the electronic device within a pre-defined time-period.

30 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the age-range of said particular user based on a number of photographs that said particular user takes via the electronic device within a pre-defined time-period.

31 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the age-range of said particular user based on a number of online transactions that said particular user performs via said electronic device during a pre-defined time-period.

32 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the age-range of said particular user based on an average acceleration of said electronic device during one or more usage sessions by said particular user.

33 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (b) comprises:

determining the age-range of said particular user based on an identifier of a make-and-model of said electronic device.

34 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining a true geographic location of said electronic device based on analysis of detected time-slots in which said electronic device is utilized by said particular user and based on analysis of detected time slots in which said electronic device is non-utilized by said particular user.

35 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining a true geographic location of said electronic device based on a number of applications that are installed on said electronic device.

36 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining an ethnicity of said particular user based on an average distance of mouse-movements performed by said particular user via a mouse of said electronic device.

37 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining a level-of-education of said particular user, based on at least one of: (i) a typing speed of said particular user, (ii) a rate of typographical errors made by said particular user, (iii) a speed of interaction of said particular user with on-screen user-interface elements, (iv) a make-and-model of said electronic device.

38 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

(c) based on estimated age of said particular user and based on estimated age-range of said particular user, at least temporarily blocking an online transaction performed by said particular user as possibly fraudulent.

39 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

(c) based on estimated age of said particular user and based on estimated age-range of said particular user, unflagging an online transaction performed by said particular user that was previously flagged by a computerized system as a possibly fraudulent transaction.
