Abstract

A catalytic reactor including: catalytic cassettes each including a catalyst part configured to reduce NOx in exhaust gas and an outer peripheral part made of a frame covering side surfaces of the catalyst part; and a lattice frame on which the catalytic cassettes are placed. The lattice frame includes a plurality of inflow holes through which exhaust gas flows into the catalyst parts and a plurality of frame parts which defines the respective plurality of inflow holes. The outer peripheral part of each of the catalytic cassettes is positioned so that the outer peripheral part is accommodated in a respective one of the frame parts.

Claims (49)

1. A system comprising:

a catalytic reactor comprising:

a plurality of catalytic cassettes each including:

a catalyst part configured to reduce nitrogen oxide in exhaust gas; and

an outer peripheral part made of a frame covering side surfaces of the catalyst part; and

at least one lattice frame on which the plurality of catalytic cassettes is placed, wherein the at least one lattice frame includes:

a plurality of inflow holes through which exhaust gas flows into the catalyst parts; and

a plurality of frame parts defining the respective plurality of inflow holes,

wherein:

the outer peripheral part of each of the catalytic cassettes is positioned so that the outer peripheral part is accommodated in a respective one of the frame parts,

the catalytic reactor has, in a side surface of the catalytic reactor, an opening through which the plurality of catalytic cassettes is charged into the catalytic reactor,

the at least one lattice frame is configured to be divisible into an opening-side frame and an opposed-side frame opposed to the opening,

the opening-side frame is detachably attached to the opposed-side frame,

the at least one lattice frame comprises a plurality of lattice frames that are provided, inside the catalytic reactor, on an upstream side and a downstream side in an exhaust-gas flow direction, and

catalytic cassettes disposed on the lattice frame on the upstream side are made shorter in the exhaust-gas flow direction than catalytic cassettes disposed on the lattice frame on the downstream side.

2. The system according to claim 1 , further comprising:

a ship; and

wherein the catalytic reactor is disposed within the ship.

3. A catalytic reactor comprising:

a housing defining one or more openings, each opening configured to receive a plurality of catalytic cassettes, each catalytic cassette comprising:

a catalyst configured to reduce nitrogen oxide in exhaust gas; and

an outer peripheral frame covering a perimeter of the catalyst; and

a plurality of lattice frames configured to support the plurality of catalytic cassettes within the housing, each of the lattice frames comprising:

an opening-side frame; and

an opposed-side frame that is detachably attached to the opening-side frame, where the lattice frame defines a plurality of inflow holes through which exhaust gas flows; and

wherein:

each of the catalytic cassettes is configured to be positioned over an inflow hole such that exhaust gas flows in an exhaust-gas flow direction through the inflow hole into the catalytic cassette;

the plurality of lattice frames comprise a first frame configured to be positioned within a first opening of the one or more openings, and a second frame configured to be positioned within a second opening of the one or more openings; and

the catalytic cassettes disposed on the first frame have a height, in the exhaust-gas flow direction, that is less than catalytic cassettes disposed on the second frame.

4. The catalytic reactor of claim 3 , wherein the first frame is disposed in the housing at a location that is upstream from the second frame, in the exhaust-gas flow direction.

5. The catalytic reactor of claim 4 , wherein for each lattice frame, the opening-side frame is configured to be positioned within the housing between the opposed-side frame and the respective opening.

6. A catalytic reactor comprising:

a housing defining one or more openings, each opening configured to receive a plurality of catalytic cassettes that reduce nitrogen oxide in exhaust gas; and

one or more lattice support frames configured to support the plurality of catalytic cassettes within the housing, each of the one or more lattice support frames comprising:

a lattice frame defining a plurality of inflow holes through which exhaust gas flows, the lattice frame comprising:

an opening-side frame; and

an opposed-side frame that is detachably attached to the opening-side frame; and

wherein each of the catalytic cassettes is configured to be positioned over an inflow hole such that exhaust gas flows through the inflow hole into the catalytic cassette.

7. The catalytic reactor of claim 6 , further comprising:

one or more cover members removably attachable to the housing to cover the one or more openings.

8. The catalytic reactor of claim 6 , wherein each of the one or more lattice support frames further comprises:

a wall portion having a first side coupled to the lattice frame; and

a plate member coupled to a second side of the wall portion; and

wherein at least one lattice support frame defines a receptacle configured to receive a set of catalytic cassettes in the housing.

9. The catalytic reactor of claim 8 , further comprising:

a pressing member coupled to a first side of the plate member.

10. The catalytic reactor of claim 8 , wherein:

the opening-side frame and an opposed-side frame define a perimeter of the lattice frame; and

the first side of the wall portion is disposed on a portion of the perimeter of the lattice frame.
