Abstract

Neridronic acid, in an acid or a salt form, can be used to treat or alleviate pain or related conditions, such as complex regional pain syndrome.

Claims (24)

1. A method of treating changes in skin blood flow associated with complex regional pain syndrome, comprising administering a parenteral dose of 5 mg to 500 mg of neridronic acid, in a salt form or an acid form, to a human being suffering from changes in skin blood flow associated with complex regional pain syndrome, wherein bone fracture was a predisposing event for complex regional pain syndrome.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the parenteral dose is administered in two or more divided doses of about 10 mg to about 150 mg.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the human being is suffering from complex regional pain syndrome type I.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the human being is suffering from complex regional pain syndrome type II.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the neridronic acid is administered in a dosage form that is in a solution form.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the neridronic acid is administered in a dosage form that is in a suspension form.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the neridronic acid is administered in a dosage form that is in a dispersion form.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the changes in skin blood flow occur in a limb.

9. A method of treating abnormal sudomotor activity associated with complex regional pain syndrome, comprising administering a parenteral dose of 5 mg to 500 mg of neridronic acid, in a salt form or an acid form, to a human being suffering from abnormal sudomotor activity associated with complex regional pain syndrome, wherein bone fracture was a predisposing event for complex regional pain syndrome.

10. The method of claim 9 , wherein the parenteral dose is administered in two or more divided doses of about 10 mg to about 150 mg.

11. The method of claim 9 , wherein the human being is suffering from complex regional pain syndrome type I.

12. The method of claim 9 , wherein the human being is suffering from complex regional pain syndrome type II.

13. The method of claim 9 , wherein the neridronic acid is administered in a dosage form that is in a solution form.

14. The method of claim 9 , wherein the neridronic acid is administered in a dosage form that is in a suspension form.

15. The method of claim 9 , wherein the neridronic acid is administered in a dosage form that is in a dispersion form.

16. The method of claim 9 , wherein the abnormal sudomotor activity occurs in a limb.

17. A method of treating debilitating pain associated with complex regional pain syndrome, comprising administering a parenteral dose of 5 mg to 500 mg of neridronic acid, in a salt form or an acid form, to a human being suffering from debilitating pain associated with complex regional pain syndrome, wherein bone fracture was a predisposing event for complex regional pain syndrome.

18. The method of claim 17 , wherein the parenteral dose is administered in two or more divided doses of about 10 mg to about 150 mg.

19. The method of claim 17 , wherein the human being is suffering from complex regional pain syndrome type I.

20. The method of claim 17 , wherein the human being is suffering from complex regional pain syndrome type II.

21. The method of claim 17 , wherein the neridronic acid is administered in a dosage form that is in a solution form.

22. The method of claim 17 , wherein the neridronic acid is administered in a dosage form that is in a suspension form.

23. The method of claim 17 , wherein the neridronic acid is administered in a dosage form that is in a dispersion form.

24. The method of claim 17 , wherein the debilitating pain occurs in a limb.
