Abstract

One embodiment provides a method, comprising: capturing, at an information handling device, audible input from at least one user; providing, on a display device operatively coupled to the information handling device, at least one transcription suggestion, wherein the at least one transcription suggestion is associated with a portion of the audible input; and inputting, responsive to receiving a selection input on the at least one transcription suggestion, the at least one transcription suggestion into an underlying application. Other aspects are described and claimed.

Claims (33)

1. A method, comprising:

capturing, at an information handling device, audible input from at least one speaker;

identifying, using a processor, that a portion of the audible input corresponds to a user's interest and wherein the portion references an article of media present in a data file, wherein the data file is a slideshow comprising a plurality of slides and wherein the article of media is an image present in one of the plurality of slides; and

providing, on a display device operatively coupled to the information handling device, at least one transcription suggestion associated with the portion, wherein the at least one transcription suggestion contains a transcription of the portion of the audible input and a reproduction of the image.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the providing comprises providing the at least one transcription suggestion substantially immediately after capturing the audible input.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the providing comprises providing the at least one transcription suggestion responsive to identifying user input corresponding to the portion.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the providing comprises providing the at least one transcription suggestion responsive to identifying that the portion corresponds to a predetermined user.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the providing comprises providing the at least one transcription suggestion responsive to identifying that the portion comprises a predetermined alphanumeric set.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the providing comprises prioritizing the at least one transcription suggestion based on a ruleset.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the user's interest is associated with at least one of an audio input provider from the at least one user and a topic.

8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising inputting, responsive to receiving a selection input on the at least one transcription suggestion, the at least one transcription suggestion into an underlying application.

9. The method of claim 8 , further comprising identifying an association between a user and the portion of the audible input and visually distinguishing, in the underlying application, the portion associated with the user from another portion associated with another user.

10. The method of claim 1 , further comprising segmenting, using a ruleset, the audible input into at least one transcribed phrase, wherein the at least one transcription suggestion corresponds to the at least one transcribed phrase.

11. The method of claim 1 , further comprising identifying additional content associated with the audible input, wherein the transcription suggestion comprises at least a portion of the additional content.

12. An information handling device, comprising:

a display device;

a processor;

a memory device that stores instructions executable by the processor to:

capture audible input from at least one speaker;

identify that a portion of the audible input corresponds to a user's interest and wherein the portion references an article of media present in a data file, wherein the data file is a slideshow comprising a plurality of slides and wherein the article of media is an image present in one of the plurality of slides; and

provide, on the display device, at least one transcription suggestion associated with the portion, wherein the at least one transcription suggestion contains a transcription of the portion of the audible input and a reproduction of the image.

13. The information handling device of claim 12 , wherein the instructions executable by the processor to provide comprise instructions executable by the processor to provide the at least one transcription suggestion substantially immediately after capturing the audible input.

14. The information handling device of claim 12 , wherein the instructions executable by the processor to provide comprise instructions executable by the processor to provide the at least one transcription suggestion responsive to identifying user input corresponding to the portion.

15. The information handling device of claim 12 , wherein the instructions executable by the processor to provide comprise instructions executable by the processor to provide the at least one transcription suggestion responsive to identifying that the portion corresponds to a predetermined user.

16. The information handling device of claim 12 , wherein the instructions executable by the processor to provide comprise instructions executable by the processor to provide the at least one transcription suggestion responsive to identifying that the portion comprises a predetermined alphanumeric set.

17. The information handling device of claim 12 , wherein user's interest is associated with at least one of an audio input provider from the at least one user and a topic.

18. The information handling device of claim 12 , wherein the instructions are further executable by the processor to input, responsive to receiving a selection input on the at least one transcription suggestion, the at least one transcription suggestion into an underlying application.

19. The information handling device of claim 18 , wherein the instructions are further executable by the processor to identify an association between a user and the portion of the audible input and visually distinguish, in the underlying application, the portion associated with the user from another portion associated with another user.

20. A method, comprising:

capturing, at an information handling device, audible input from at least one speaker;

segmenting, using a processor, the audible input into one or more transcribed phrases;

determining, by accessing a predetermined ruleset, which of the one or more transcribed phrases to input to an underlying application, wherein the determining comprises identifying that a portion of the audible input corresponds to a user's interest and wherein the portion references an article of media present in a data file, wherein the data file is a slideshow comprising a plurality of slides and wherein the article of media is an image present in one of the plurality of slides; and

automatically inputting, without user selection input, the determined one or more transcribed phrases to the underlying application as well as a reproduction of the image.
