INTEGRATED SECURITY SYSTEM WITH PARALLEL PROCESSING ARCHITECTURE
An integrated security system that includes a security coprocessor coupled to a conventional security system panel and an interactive security system. The integrated security system enables conventional security system features as well as the consumer-oriented interactive features and functions of an interactive security system without sacrificing reliability or the significant burden and cost associated with frequent software updates associated with conventional security systems. The integrated security system also minimizes or eliminates the need for new battery backup circuitry or larger batteries.
1 . A method comprising:
determining a first computing resource usage of a premises management system, wherein the first computing resource usage is associated with a first subset of a plurality of devices of the premises management system;
determining a second computing resource usage of the premises management system, wherein the second computing resource usage is associated with a second subset of the plurality of devices of the premises management system; and
causing modification, based on the first computing resource usage and the second computing resource usage, of one or more operations associated with the first subset of the plurality of devices.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the causing modification of the one or more operations associated with the first subset of the plurality of devices comprises disabling the one or more operations associated with the first subset of the plurality of devices.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the causing modification of the one or more operations associated with the first subset of the plurality of devices comprises causing the first computing resource usage to be reduced.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the causing modification of the one or more operations associated with the first subset of the plurality of devices comprises causing the first computing resource usage to be increased.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first computing resource usage or the second computing resource usage comprises at least one of a power usage, a processor usage, or a memory usage.
6 . A method comprising:
determining a resource usage of a first device of a premises management system;
determining a resource usage of a second device of the premises management system; and
causing modification, based on the resource usage of the first device and the resource usage of the second device, of one or more operations associated with the first device.
7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the causing modification of the one or more operations associated with the first device comprises:
determining a priority of the one or more operations associated with the first device; and
disabling, based on the priority, at least one operation of the one or more operations associated with the first device.
8 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the causing modification of the one or more operations associated with the first device comprises causing a power supply to modify power supplied to the first device.
9 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the causing modification of the one or more operations associated with the first device is further based on determining that at least one of the resource usage of the first device or the second resource usage of the second device satisfies a resource usage threshold.
10 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the causing modification of the one or more operations associated with the first device is further based on determining that the resource usage of the first device exceeds the resource usage of the second device by an amount satisfying a threshold.
11 . A computing device comprising:
one or more processors; and
instructions, that when executed by the one or more processors, cause the computing device to:
determine a first computing resource usage of a premises management system, wherein the first computing resource usage is associated with a first subset of a plurality of devices of the premises management system;
determine a second computing resource usage of the premises management system, wherein the second computing resource usage is associated with a second subset of the plurality of devices of the premises management system; and
cause modification, based on the first computing resource usage and the second computing resource usage, of one or more operations associated with the first subset of the plurality of devices.
12 . The computing device of claim 11 , wherein the first subset of the plurality of devices comprises home automation devices.
13 . The computing device of claim 11 , wherein the second subset of the plurality of devices comprises security system devices.
14 . The computing device of claim 11 , wherein the computing device comprises a gateway device in communication with the first subset of the plurality of devices and the second subset of the plurality of devices.
15 . The computing device of claim 11 , wherein the computing device comprises a gateway device in communication with a power supply configured to supply power to at least one of the first subset of the plurality of devices or the second subset of the plurality of devices.
16 . A computing device comprising:
one or more processors; and
instructions, that when executed by the one or more processors, cause the computing device to:
determine a resource usage of a first device of a premises management system;
determine a resource usage of a second device of the premises management system; and
cause modification, based on the resource usage of the first device and the resource usage of the second device, of one or more operations associated with the first device.
17 . The computing device of claim 16 , wherein instructions that, when executed, cause the computing device to cause modification of the one or more operations associated with the first device comprise instructions that cause the computing device to allocate resource to the second device instead of to the first device.
18 . The computing device of claim 16 , wherein the instructions, when executed, cause the computing device to cause modification of the one or more operations associated with the first device further based on the second device having a higher priority than the first device.
19 . The computing device of claim 16 , wherein the resource usage of the first device and the resource usage of the second device are associated with a resource; and
wherein the instructions, when executed, cause the computing device to cause modification of the one or more operations associated with the first device further based on a total supply of the resource.
20 . The computing device of claim 16 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the computing device to send, to a remote device, an indication of the modification of the one or more operations associated with the first device.
