Abstract

A protective case for a handheld electronic device is provided. The protective case can include a removable mounting system comprised of an interlocking member and a plurality of mounting bases. The protective case may further include a non-slip member to prevent the device from slipping on a surface and a magnet for attaching the device to a magnetic surface.

Claims (32)

1. A mountable case system for a mobile electronic device, comprising:

a case configured to be selectively connectable to the mobile electronic device and retain the electronic device within an interior space of the case, the case comprising a rear portion that is positioned along a rear surface of the electronic device and a side portion extending from the rear portion and being positioned adjacent at least a portion of a top, bottom, left and right sides of the electronic device;

wherein the rear portion of the case comprises an attachment region defining an opening having a periphery, wherein the periphery of the opening defines at least a first case tab and a second case tab, wherein each of the case tabs are separated by one of a plurality of access spaces;

a mount comprising a mount piece and a mount attachment piece, the mount piece configured to be mounted to a component of a bicycle, the mount attachment piece comprising an interlocking member, the interlocking member comprising a first mount tab and a second mount tab;

an arm portion that extends between the mount piece and the mount attachment piece, wherein the arm portion is rotatably coupled to the mount piece;

wherein, in use, the mount tabs are passed through a respective one of the access spaces and wherein, upon relative rotation between the case and the mount to an interlocking position, the mount tabs engage the case tabs to removably interlock the case with the mount.

2. The case system of claim 1 , wherein the mount piece is adjustable relative to the mount attachment piece.

3. The case system of claim 2 , wherein the mount piece is rotatable relative to the mount attachment piece.

4. The case system of claim 1 , wherein the mount piece is configured to position the case above a steering stem of the bicycle.

5. The case system of claim 1 , wherein the mobile electronic device the case is configured to be selectively connectable to is a mobile phone.

6. A mountable case system for a mobile electronic device, comprising:

a case configured to be selectively connectable to the mobile electronic device and retain the electronic device within an interior space of the case, the case comprising a rear portion that is positioned along a rear surface of the electronic device and a side portion extending from the rear portion and being positioned adjacent at least a portion of a top, bottom, left and right sides of the electronic device;

wherein the rear portion of the case comprises an attachment region defining an opening having a periphery, wherein the periphery of the opening defines at least a first case tab and a second case tab, wherein each of the case tabs are separated by one of a plurality of access spaces;

a mount comprising a mount piece and a mount attachment piece, the mount attachment piece comprising an interlocking member, the interlocking member comprising a first mount tab and a second mount tab;

an arm portion that extends between the mount piece and the mount attachment piece, wherein the arm portion is rotatably coupled to the mount piece;

wherein, in use, the mount tabs are passed through a respective one of the access spaces and wherein, upon relative rotation between the case and the mount to an interlocking position, the mount tabs engage the case tabs to removably interlock the case with the mount;

wherein the mobile electronic device the case is configured to be selectively connectable to is a mobile phone.

7. The case system of claim 6 , wherein the mount piece is adjustable relative to the mount attachment piece.

8. The case system of claim 7 , wherein the mount piece is rotatable relative to the mount attachment piece.

9. The case system of claim 6 , wherein the mount is a bike mount and wherein the mount piece is configured to be mounted to a component of a bicycle.

10. The case system of claim 9 , wherein the mount piece is configured to position the case above a steering stem of the bicycle.

11. A mountable case system for a mobile electronic device, comprising:

a case configured to be selectively connectable to the mobile electronic device and retain the electronic device within an interior space of the case, the case comprising a rear portion that is positioned along a rear surface of the electronic device and a side portion extending from the rear portion and being positioned adjacent at least a portion of a top, bottom, left and right sides of the electronic device;

wherein the rear portion of the case comprises an attachment region defining an opening having a periphery, wherein the periphery of the opening defines at least a first case tab and a second case tab, wherein each of the case tabs are separated by one of a plurality of access spaces;

a mount comprising a mount piece and a mount attachment piece, the mount piece configured to be mounted to a component of a bicycle, the mount attachment piece comprising an interlocking member, the interlocking member comprising a first mount tab and a second mount tab, wherein the mount attachment piece defines a longitudinal axis extending in a direction of attachment between the case and the mount;

an arm portion that extends between the mount piece and the mount attachment piece, the arm portion having a first end and a second end and extending radially relative to the longitudinal axis of the mount attachment piece such that the mount piece is radially offset from the mount attachment piece and such that the second end of the arm portion is outside of an area defined by the attachment region when the case is attached to the mount;

wherein, in use, the mount tabs are passed through a respective one of the access spaces and wherein, upon relative rotation between the case and the mount about the longitudinal axis of the mount attachment piece, the mount tabs engage the case tabs to removably interlock the case with the mount.

12. The case system of claim 11 , wherein the mount piece is adjustable relative to the mount attachment piece.

13. The case system of claim 12 , wherein the mount piece is rotatable relative to the mount attachment piece.

14. The case system of claim 11 , wherein the arm portion is rotatably coupled to the mount piece.

15. The case system of claim 11 , wherein the mount piece is configured to position the case above a steering stem of the bicycle.

16. The case system of claim 11 , wherein the mobile electronic device the case is configured to be selectively connectable to is a mobile phone.
