Abstract

Methods and systems for facilitating photo-based estimation are described. In an aspect, a server is configured to receive, via a communications module and from a remote computing device, a signal representing identification data and to identify, based on the identification data, one or more of the profiles stored in a data store. The server may obtain a three-dimensional vehicle model based on the identified profile. The server may send, via the communications module to the remote computing device, a signal representing display data. The display data includes the three-dimensional vehicle model and a damage location indicator overlaid on the three-dimensional vehicle model. The damage location indicator may be selectable to input an indication of a damage location. The server may receive via the communications module, after selection of the damage location indicator on the remote computing device, a signal comprising an indicator of the location of damage.

an indication of whether the vehicle is a car;

an indication of whether the vehicle is a truck;

an indication of whether the vehicle is a sports utility vehicle;

an indication of whether the vehicle is a motorcycle;

a make of the vehicle;

a model of the vehicle;

4. The server of claim 1 , wherein displaying the three-dimensional vehicle model in the chat interface comprises displaying the three-dimensional vehicle model as a message below a last message displayed in the chat interface.

5. The server of claim 1 , wherein the indicator of the location of damage includes image data obtained at the remote computing device.

6. The server of claim 1 , wherein the damage location indicator comprises a plurality of selectable locations, each selectable location associated with location information defining a location, and wherein the indicator of the location of the damage is based on the location information of a selected one of the plurality of selectable locations.

7. The server of claim 6 , wherein the plurality of selectable locations comprises a grid.

8. The server of claim 1 , wherein the identification data includes a policy number.

9. The server of claim 1 , wherein the instructions further configure the processor to:

analyze the indicator of the location of damage to obtain a damage quantum indicator, the damage quantum indicator numerically quantifying an amount of damage to the vehicle; and

send, via the communications module and to the remote computing device, a numerical value based on the damage quantum indicator.

10. The server of claim 9 , wherein after sending the numerical value, the instructions further configure the processor to:

send, via the communications module and to the remote computing device, a fifth signal representing a request for an indication of an additional damage location.

11. The server of claim 10 , wherein the instructions further configure the processor to:

receive, via the communications module and from the remote computing device, an indicator of additional damage

analyze the indicator of the additional damage to obtain another damage quantum indicator, the other damage quantum indicator numerically quantifying an amount of damage to the vehicle at the additional damage location; and

send, via the communications module and to the remote computing device, another numerical value based on the other damage quantum indicator and the damage quantum indicator.

12. A method comprising:

providing, via a communications module to a remote computing device, a first signal comprising a live chat interface;

receiving, via the communications module and from the remote computing device, a second signal representing identification data;

identifying, based on the identification data, one or more profiles stored in a data store;

obtaining a three-dimensional vehicle model based on the identified profile;

sending, via the communications module to the remote computing device, a third signal representing display data, the display data including the three-dimensional vehicle model and a damage location indicator overlaid on the three-dimensional vehicle model, the display data causing the remote computing device to display the three-dimensional model in the live chat interface such that the three-dimensional model is rotatable within the live chat interface and the damage location indicator is selectable within the live chat interface to input an indication of a damage location; and

receiving, via the communications module, after selection of the damage location indicator on the remote computing device, a fourth signal comprising an indicator of the location of damage.

13. The method of claim 12 , wherein obtaining the three-dimensional vehicle model comprises:

obtaining, from the identified profile, insured vehicle identifying data, the insured vehicle identifying data identifying a vehicle type; and

retrieving the three-dimensional vehicle model from a vehicle model database based on the vehicle type.

14. The method of claim 13 , wherein the vehicle type specifies one or more of:

an indication of whether the vehicle is a car;
