Abstract

An online identity verification application may be provided. According to an exemplary embodiment, an online identity verification application may utilize photographic, biometric, and documentation identification protocols. The verification application may use a multi-tier verification process based on identification protocols to verify the owner of a verification account and subsequently verify any linked accounts.

Claims (52)

1. A non-transitory computer-readable medium for verifying an online identity, comprising instructions stored thereon, that when executed on a processor, perform the steps of:

allowing a user to create a user account;

storing or communicating user data with a user database;

collecting and storing or communicating user bibliographic data;

collecting and storing or communicating user contact data;

sending a verification request using the user contact data;

capturing a profile photograph or allowing a profile photograph to be selected through user input;

automatically layering a stamp on the profile photograph;

automatically combining the layered profile photograph and stamp to create a new image file;

creating a GUID for the user;

automatically encoding the new image file with an encrypted text string resulting in an encrypted profile picture, wherein the text string comprises the GUID and an export timestamp;

encoding the stamp with the GUID and dynamic webpage URL such that the stamp is configured to display the GUID and link to the webpage URL when selected or engaged by a user through a GUI;

communicating and storing the encrypted profile picture in the user database;

outputting the encrypted profile picture to a dynamic webpage;

displaying or communicating a URL to the dynamic webpage;

accessing stored or captured photos;

encrypting the stored or captured photos with the stamp;

allowing a user to select at least one user profile on a third-party platform; and

uploading the encrypted photos to the selected at least one user profile.

2. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , further comprising collecting user biometric data using the device camera, a speaker or a finger-print scanner, wherein the biometric data comprises at least one of a fingerprint, a retina scan, voice recording or a facial recognition scan.

3. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the dynamic webpage is a user account profile page and the encrypted profile picture created with the account creation is permanently displayed on the user account profile page.

4. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , further comprising scanning the profile photograph for existing malware or bugs and removing any found malware or bugs.

5. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the stamp appearance is varied with the amount of user data collected for verification.

6. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein user data is collected through an independent kiosk.

7. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , further comprising allowing submission of a real-time verification request of a third-party user.

8. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , further comprising collecting at least one of user GPS data and user biometric data.

9. A method for online identity verification comprising:

allowing a user to create a user account;

storing or communicating user data with a user database;

collecting and storing or communicating user bibliographic data;

collecting and storing or communicating user contact data;

sending a verification request using the user contact data;

capturing a profile photograph or allowing a profile photograph to be selected through user input;

automatically layering a stamp on the profile photograph;

automatically combining the layered profile photograph and stamp to create a new image file;

creating a GUID for the user;

automatically encoding the new image file with an encrypted text string resulting in an encrypted profile picture, wherein the text string comprises the GUID and an export timestamp;

encoding the stamp with the GUID and dynamic webpage URL such that the stamp is configured to display the GUID and link to the webpage URL when selected or engaged by a user through a GUI;

communicating and storing the encrypted profile picture in the user database;

outputting the encrypted profile picture to a dynamic webpage;

displaying or communicating a URL to the dynamic webpage;

accessing stored or captured photos;

encrypting the stored or captured photos with the stamp;

allowing a user to select at least one user profile on a third-party platform; and

uploading the encrypted photos to the selected at least one user profile.

10. The method of claim 9 , further comprising collecting user biometric data using the device camera, a speaker or a finger-print scanner, wherein the biometric data comprises at least one of a fingerprint, a retina scan, voice recording or a facial recognition scan.

11. The method of claim 9 , wherein the dynamic webpage is a user account profile page and the encrypted profile picture created with the account creation is permanently displayed on the user account profile page.

12. The method of claim 9 , further comprising scanning the profile photograph for existing malware or bugs and removing any found malware or bugs.

13. The method of claim 9 , wherein the stamp appearance is varie d with the amount of user data collected for verification.

14. The method of claim 9 , wherein user data is collected through an independent kiosk.

15. The method of claim 9 , further comprising allowing submission of a real-time verification request of a third-party user.

16. The method of claim 9 , further comprising collecting at least one of user GPS data and user biometric data.
