Dryer conveyor belt tracking system
The present invention provides a conveyor belt tracking system for a dryer having a web of a mesh material having a protrusion extending along the length proximal one lateral edge and above a flat surface and a first generally cylindrical roller having a three-tiered slot for receiving the protrusion and two flanking shallow tracks for receiving base flanges.
1. A conveyor belt tracking system for a dryer comprising:
a web of a mesh material having a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge opposed to the first lateral edge, a length, and a generally flat surface, a strip of material is connected to the web along the length and proximal the first lateral edge, the strip having a pair of base flanges extending above the flat surface a first distance and a flanking a central peak extending above the flat surface by a second distance greater than the first distance; and
a first generally cylindrical roller having a circumference, a third lateral edge and a fourth lateral edge opposed to the third lateral edge, and a generally smooth surface, a three-tiered slot integral with the first generally cylindrical roller and extends about the circumference spaced axially inwardly from the third lateral edge and extends radially inwardly of the smooth surface and having a central deep track for receiving the central peak and two flanking shallow tracks for receiving the base flanges.
2. The system of claim 1 further comprising a support extending between lateral edges of the web and having a surface for contacting the generally flat surface of the web and a notch in the surface to accommodate the central peak.
3. The system of claim 1 further comprising a first coating material on the web extending along the length and proximate the first lateral edge.
4. The system of claim 3 further comprising a second coating material on the web extending along the length and proximate the second lateral edge.
5. The system of claim 4 further comprising thread for attaching the strip of material to the web.
6. The system of claim 1 wherein the first generally cylindrical roller is anodized aluminum.
7. The system of claim 1 wherein the first generally cylindrical roller is driven by a motor.
8. The system of claim 1 wherein the web is made of heat-resistant, polytetrafluoroethylene.
9. The system of claim 1 wherein the central peak is generally trapezoidal in vertical cross section.
10. The system of claim 1 wherein the three-tiered slot is spaced axially inwardly from the third lateral edge by a distance A, and wherein the central peak has a height equal to the distance A.
11. A conveyor belt tracking device for a dryer comprising:
a web of a mesh material having a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge opposed to the first lateral edge, a length, and a generally flat surface;
a strip of material connected to the web along the length and proximal the first lateral edge, the strip having a pair of base flanges flanking a central peak extending above the flat surface; and
a first generally cylindrical roller having a circumference, a third lateral edge and a fourth lateral edge opposed to the third lateral edge, and a generally smooth surface, a three-tiered slot integral with the first generally cylindrical roller and extending radially inwardly of the smooth surface, about the circumference, and having a central deep track receiving the central peak and two flanking shallow tracks receiving the base flanges.
12. The device of claim 11 further comprising a support extending between lateral edges of the web and having a surface for contacting the generally flat surface of the web and a notch in the surface to accommodate the central peak.
13. The device of claim 11 further comprising a first coating material on the web extending along the length and proximate the first lateral edge.
14. The device of claim 13 further comprising a second coating material on the web extending along the length and proximate the second lateral edge.
15. The device of claim 14 further comprising thread attaching the strip of material to the web.
16. The device of claim 11 wherein the first generally cylindrical roller is anodized aluminum.
17. The device of claim 11 wherein the first generally cylindrical roller is driven by a motor.
18. The device of claim 11 wherein the web is made of heat-resistant, polytetrafluoroethylene.
19. The device of claim 11 wherein the central peak is generally trapezoidal in vertical cross section.
20. The device of claim 11 wherein the three-tiered slot is spaced axially inwardly from the third lateral edge by a distance A, and wherein the central peak has a height equal to the distance A.
