Abstract

Systems and methods of the present invention provide for one or more server computers communicatively coupled to a network and configured to: monitor a character stream; identify characters comprising a domain name request; identify a token in a language character map comprising the characters and associated with a language; generate, using a software translation engine, a translation of the first token into a second language; generate candidate domain names comprising: a domain name comprising the token; and a second domain name comprising the second token; modify, in real time, a user interface control to display the list of candidate domain names.

Claims (40)

1. A system comprising a server, comprising a first computing device coupled to a network and including at least one processor executing instructions within a memory which, when executed, cause the server to:

store, within a database coupled to the network:

a plurality of tokens including a first token, a second token, and a top level domain (TLD), for each of a plurality of registered domain names identified within a domain name system (DNS) zone file; and

a language dictionary translating each of the plurality of tokens from a first language to a second language;

generate a sum of a running total, associated with each of the plurality of registered domain names, of:

a TLD for each domain name;

at least one token within each domain name;

at least one language determined by the at least one token; and

at least one adjacent token;

receive, from a graphical user interface (GUI) on a client computing device, a request to register a domain name including the first token;

generate a list of candidate domain names including a first domain name including the first token, and a second domain name including the second token translated into the second language from the first token; and

modify, in real time, a user interface control within the GUI to display the list of candidate domain names.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the database further comprises a language character map including a plurality of valid characters for each of a plurality of languages.

3. The system of claim 2 , wherein the language character map includes a second plurality of tokens associated in the language character map with each of the plurality of languages.

4. The system of claim 3 , wherein the language character map includes a part of speech associated in the language character map with each of the plurality of tokens.

5. The system of claim 4 , wherein the language character map includes a translation of each of the plurality of tokens into at least one additional language in the language map.

6. The system of claim 1 , further comprising at least one additional user interface control displaying an additional candidate domain name and displayed in response to the server computer modifying the user interface control to display the list of candidate domain names.

7. The system of claim 6 , wherein the additional candidate domain name is translated into at least one additional language.

8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the list of candidate domain names further comprises a transliteration of at least one character in the first language into at least one character in the second language.

9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the list of candidate domain names further comprises a translation of the first token or the second token into a phonetic script.

10. A method comprising the steps of:

storing, by a server comprising a first computing device coupled to a network and including at least one processor executing instructions within a memory, within a database coupled to the network:

a plurality of tokens including a first token, a second token, and a top level domain (TLD), for each of a plurality of registered domain names identified within a domain name system (DNS) zone file; and

a language dictionary translating each of the plurality of tokens from a first language to a second language;

generating, by the server, a sum of a running total, associated with each of the plurality of registered domain names, of:

a TLD for each domain name;

at least one token within each domain name;

at least one language determined by the at least one token; and

at least one adjacent token;

receiving, by the server, from a graphical user interface (GUI) on a client computing device, a request to register a domain name including the first token;

generating, by the server, a list of candidate domain names including a first domain name including the first token, and a second domain name including the second token translated into the second language from the first token; and

modifying, by the server, in real time, a user interface control within the GUI to display the list of candidate domain names.

11. The method of claim 10 , wherein the database further comprises a language character map including a plurality of valid characters for each of a plurality of languages.

12. The method of claim 11 , wherein the language character map includes a second plurality of tokens associated in the language character map with each of the plurality of languages.

13. The method of claim 12 , wherein the language character map includes a part of speech associated in the language character map with each of the plurality of tokens.

14. The method of claim 13 , wherein the language character map includes a translation of each of the plurality of tokens into at least one additional language in the language map.

15. The method of claim 10 , further comprising the step of displaying at least one additional user interface control displaying an additional candidate domain name and displayed in response to the server computer modifying the user interface control to display the list of candidate domain names.

16. The method of claim 15 , wherein the additional candidate domain name is translated into at least one additional language.

17. The method of claim 10 , wherein the list of candidate domain names further comprises a transliteration of at least one character in the first language into at least one character in the second language.

18. The method of claim 10 , wherein the list of candidate domain names further comprises a translation of the first token or the second token into a phonetic script.
