Electronic device including housing and flexible display panel
An electronic device includes a housing and a display panel. The housing includes a flat surface, a first side surface including a curved surface, second and third side surfaces adjacent to the first side surface and including a curved surface, and a fourth side surface opposite to the first side surface and including a curved surface. The display panel includes a first region overlapping with the flat surface, a second region overlapping with the first side surface and including a curved surface, a third region overlapping with the second side surface and including a curved surface, and a fourth region overlapping with the third side surface and including a curved surface.
1. An electronic device comprising:
a housing;
a display panel; and
a flexible printed circuit,
wherein the housing includes a flat surface, and first, second, third, and fourth side surfaces that extend from the flat surface,
wherein the first side surface is opposite to the fourth side surface,
wherein the second side surface is opposite to the third side surface,
wherein the first side surface and the fourth side surface are longer than the second side surface and the third side surface,
wherein each of the first side surface and the fourth side surface includes a curved surface,
wherein the display panel includes a flexible substrate,
wherein the flexible substrate includes a first region and a second region,
wherein the first region overlaps with the flat surface, the first side surface, and the fourth side surface,
wherein the second region overlaps with the second side surface,
wherein the display panel is electrically connected to the flexible printed circuit in the second region, and
wherein the flexible printed circuit is provided on a rear surface of the display panel, and
wherein a display region of the display panel is located outside the housing.
2. The electronic device according to claim 1 , wherein the display panel covers the flat surface of the housing.
3. The electronic device according to claim 1 , wherein each of the second side surface and the third side surface includes a curved surface.
4. An electronic device comprising:
a housing; and
a display panel,
wherein the housing includes a flat surface, a first side surface, second and third side surfaces adjacent to the first side surface and including a curved surface, and a fourth side surface opposite to the first side surface,
wherein the display panel includes a first region overlapping with the flat surface, a second region overlapping with the first side surface and including a curved surface, a third region overlapping with the second side surface and including a curved surface, and a fourth region overlapping with the third side surface and including a curved surface,
wherein a corner portion formed by the first side surface and the second side surface included in the housing and a corner portion formed by the first side surface and the third side surface included in the housing are provided at a position not overlapping with the display panel, and
wherein a display region of the display panel is located outside the housing.
5. The electronic device according to claim 4 , wherein the display panel covers the flat surface of the housing.
6. The electronic device according to claim 4 , wherein each of the first side surface and the fourth side surface includes a curved surface.
7. An electronic device comprising:
a housing;
a display panel including a flexible substrate; and
a flexible printed circuit,
wherein the housing includes:
a flat surface including two long sides and two short sides;
a first side surface extending from one of the two long sides and including a curved surface region;
a second side surface extending from one of the two short sides;
a third side surface extending from the other of the two short sides; and
a fourth side surface extending from the other of the two long sides and including a curved surface region,
wherein the flexible substrate includes:
a first side;
a second side adjacent to the first side and overlapping with the first side surface;
a third side adjacent to the first side and overlapping with the fourth side surface;
a fourth side opposite to the first side, and
a protruding portion extending from the first side so as to be bendable and including a region overlapping with the flexible printed circuit, and
wherein a display region of the display panel is located outside the housing.
8. The electronic device according to claim 7 , wherein the display panel covers the flat surface of the housing.
9. An electronic device comprising:
a housing;
a display panel including a flexible substrate; and
a flexible printed circuit,
wherein the housing includes:
a flat surface including two long sides and two short sides;
a first side surface extending from one of the two long sides and including a curved surface region;
a second side surface extending from one of the two short sides;
a third side surface extending from the other of the two short sides; and
a fourth side surface extending from the other of the two long sides and including a curved surface region,
wherein the flexible substrate includes:
a first side;
a second side adjacent to the first side and overlapping with the first side surface;
a third side adjacent to the first side and overlapping with the fourth side surface;
a linear fourth side opposite to the first side, and
a protruding portion extending from the first side so as to be bendable and including a region overlapping with the flexible printed circuit, and
wherein a display region of the display panel is located outside the housing.
10. The electronic device according to claim 9 , wherein the display panel covers the flat surface of the housing.
