Abstract

A method of a responding entity for creating a secure link with a requesting entity in an embedded universal integrated circuit card (eUICC) environment is provided. The method includes: receiving, from the requesting entity, a secure link creation message including signature information of the requesting entity; verifying the signature information of the requesting entity by using trust information of the requesting entity, the trust information of the requesting entity being generated by a certificate authority (CA) and transferred to the responding entity; generating a shared key used for communication between the responding entity and the requesting entity; and creating the secure link with the requesting entity by using the shared key.

Claims (26)

1. A method of a responding entity for creating a secure link with a requesting entity in an embedded universal integrated circuit card (eUICC) environment, the method comprising:

receiving, from the requesting entity, a secure link creation message requesting to build a secure link between the responding entity and the requesting entity, the secure link creation message including signature information of the requesting entity;

receiving, from a certificate authority (CA) entity, trust information of the requesting entity, the trust information being generated by the CA entity;

verifying the signature information of the requesting entity by using the trust information of the requesting entity and authentication information of the requesting entity;

generating an encrypted shared key by using the trust information of the requesting entity and transmitting the encrypted shared key to the requesting entity; and

creating the secure link with the requesting entity by using a shared key,

wherein the verifying comprises determining, by the responding entity, whether the authentication information of the requesting entity is stored in the responding entity, and requesting the authentication information of the requesting entity from the CA entity based on a determination that the authentication information of the requesting entity is not stored in the responding entity.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the requesting entity is a subscription manager-data preparation (SM-DP).

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the responding entity is an eUICC.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the signature information is created based on the authentication information of the requesting entity.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the requesting entity is any one of an eUICC, an MNO, a profile creating entity, and a profile loading entity.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the responding entity is any one of an MNO, a profile creating entity, and a profile loading entity.

7. An embedded universal integrated circuit card (eUICC) for creating a secure link with a communication entity, comprising:

a processor; and

a memory configured to store at least one instruction executed by the processor,

the at least one instruction includes:

an instruction for receiving, from the communication entity, a secure link creation message requesting to build a secure link between the eUICC and the communication entity, the secure link creation message including signature information of the communication entity;

an instruction for receiving trust information of the communication entity from a certificate authority (CA) entity, the trust information of the communication entity being generated by the CA entity;

an instruction for verifying the signature information of the communication entity by using the trust information of the communication entity and authentication information of the communication entity;

an instruction for generating an encrypted shared key by using the trust information of the communication entity and transmitting the encrypted shared key to the communication entity; and

an instruction for creating the secure link with the communication entity by using a shared key,

wherein the at least one instruction further includes an instruction for determining whether the authentication information of the communication entity is stored in the eUICC, and requesting the authentication information of the communication entity from the CA entity based on a determination that the authentication information of the communication entity is not stored in the eUICC.

8. The eUICC of claim 7 , wherein the communication entity is a subscription manager-data preparation (SM-DP).

9. The eUICC of claim 7 , wherein the signature information is created based on the authentication information of the communication entity.

10. The eUICC of claim 7 , wherein the communication entity is any one of an MNO, a profile creating entity, and a profile loading entity.

11. The method of claim 1 , wherein the trust information is generated based on an identification information of the requesting entity, and the identification information of the requesting entity is transferred to the CA from the requesting entity.
