Abstract

One embodiment provides a method, including: receiving, at an information handling device, context data associated with a user's interactions with another device; determining, using a processor, whether the context data is associated with device use data, wherein the device use data corresponds to an intention of the user to operate the another device; and establishing, responsive to determining that the context data is associated with the device use data, a wireless connection between the information handling device and the another device. Other aspects are described and claimed.

Claims (33)

1. A method, comprising:

receiving, at an information handling device, context data associated with a user's interactions with another device;

determining, using a processor, whether the context data is associated with device use data, wherein the device use data corresponds to an intention of the user to operate the another device;

establishing, responsive to determining that the context data is associated with the device use data, a wireless connection between the information handling device and the another device; and

instructing the another device to perform a predetermined function responsive to establishing the wireless connection.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the receiving comprises receiving the context data from at least one sensor integral to the another device.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the at least one sensor is a sensor selected from the group consisting of a light sensor, a camera, an accelerometer, and a microphone.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the determining comprises accessing an accessible storage database comprising the device use data and comparing the received context data to the device use data in the accessible storage database.

5. The method of claim 4 , further comprising determining that the context data is associated with the device use data by identifying that the context data shares a predetermined level of similarity to the device use data.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the establishing the wireless connection comprises at least one of connecting and pairing the information handling device to the another device.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the predetermined function is based on one or more contextual factors.

8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing a notification to the user that the wireless connection is established.

9. The method of claim 1 , further comprising terminating the wireless connection with the another device and establishing another wireless connection with a different device responsive to receiving different context data associated with the user's interactions with the different device, wherein the different context data is associated with the device use data.

10. An information handling device, comprising:

a processor;

a memory device that stores instructions executable by the processor to:

receive context data associated with a user's interactions with another device;

determine whether the context data is associated with device use data, wherein the device use data corresponds to an intention of the user to operate the another device;

establish, responsive to determining that the context data is associated with the device use data, a wireless connection between the information handling device and the another device; and

instruct the another device to perform a predetermined function responsive to establishing the wireless connection.

11. The information handling device of claim 10 , wherein the instructions executable by the processor to receive comprise instructions executable by the processor to receive the context data from at least one sensor integral to the another device.

12. The information handling device of claim 10 , wherein the instructions executable by the processor to determine comprise instructions executable by the processor to access an accessible storage database comprise the device use data and compare the received context data to the device use data in the accessible storage database.

13. The information handling device of claim 12 , wherein the instructions are further executable by the processor to determine that the context data is associated with the device use data by identifying that the context data shares a predetermined level of similarity to the device use data.

14. The information handling device of claim 10 , wherein the instructions executable by the processor to establish the wireless connection comprise instructions executable by the processor to connect the information handling device to the another device or pair the information handling device to the another device.

15. The information handling device of claim 10 , wherein the predetermined function is based on one or more contextual factors.

16. The information handling device of claim 10 , wherein the instructions are further executable by the processor to provide a notification to the user that the wireless connection is established.

17. The information handling device of claim 10 , wherein the instructions are further executable by the processor to terminate the wireless connection with the another device and establish another wireless connection with a different device responsive to receiving different context data associated with the user's interactions with the different device, wherein the different context data is associated with the device use data.

18. A product, comprising:

a storage device that stores code, the code being executable by a processor and comprising:

code that receives context data associated with a user's interactions with another device;

code that determines whether the context data is associated with device use data, wherein the device use data corresponds to an intention of the user to operate the another device;

code that establishes, responsive to determining that the context data is associated with the device use data, a wireless connection between an information handling device and the another device; and

code that instructs the another device to perform a predetermined function responsive to establishing the wireless connection.
