Treatment of autism with cannabidiol
View Patent ↗The present technology relates to a method of treating one or more behavioral symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a subject by transdermally administering an effective amount of cannabidiol (CBD) to the subject wherein one or more behavioral symptoms of ASD are treated in the subject.
1. A method of treating a human suffering from an autism spectrum disorder comprising:
administering a therapeutically effective amount of synthetic cannabidiol to the human suffering from the autism spectrum disorder to effectively treat the autism spectrum disorder in the human in need thereof.
2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the cannabidiol is (−)-cannabidiol.
3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the therapeutically effective amount of cannabidiol is between about 50 mg and about 500 mg total daily.
4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the cannabidiol is formulated as a permeation-enhanced gel.
5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the cannabidiol is administered in a single-daily dose.
6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the cannabidiol is administered in two daily doses.
7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the cannabidiol is transdermally administered.
