Abstract

Disclosed is a data transmission method in a mobile communication system. The data transmission method through a code sequence in a mobile communication system includes grouping input data streams into a plurality of blocks consisting of at least one bit so as to map each block to a corresponding signature sequence, multiplying a signature sequence stream, to which the plurality of blocks are mapped, by a specific code sequence, and transmitting the signature sequence stream multiplied by the specific code sequence to a receiver.

Claims (50)

1. A system to transmit a preamble sequence from user equipment to a base station to at least improve detection performance comprising:

a receiver within the user equipment capable of receiving, from the base station and over a broadcast channel, position information of an allocated random access channel resource, the position information including frequency information and timing information; and

a transmitter within the user equipment capable of transmitting, using the position information, and on a random access channel, a preamble sequence to the base station to access a cellular network, wherein the preamble sequence has the form of a single cyclic prefix (CP) concatenated to a front-end of an N-time repetition, where N is an integer greater than 1, of the product of a Zadoff-Chu Constant Amplitude Zero Auto Correlation (CAZAC) based sequence with an exponential sequence.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the position information is expressed by one or more of subcarrier offset, number of sub-carriers, timing offset, and/or a number of symbols.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the position information was transmitted via a broadcast channel.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the timing information is expressed by one or more of a timing offset and/or the number of symbols.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein multiplying exponential sequences in a time domain is equal to performing a circular shift in a frequency domain.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the user equipment detects repetitive patterns.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the user equipment transmits uplink data to the base station through an allocated resource.

8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the transmitter further transmits a message for a request for scheduling to the base station.

9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the preamble sequence is accompanied by a pilot.

10. The system of claim 1 , wherein the transmitter also transmits a wideband pilot.

11. A base station that receives a preamble sequence from user equipment to at least improve detection performance comprising:

a transmitter that transmits, to the user equipment over a broadcast channel, position information of an allocated random access channel resource, the position information including frequency information and timing information; and

a receiver that receives a preamble sequence, the preamble sequence having been transmitted using the position information, and on a random access channel, to access a cellular network, wherein the preamble sequence has the form of a single cyclic prefix (CP) concatenated to a front-end of an N-time repetition, where N is an integer greater than 1, of the product of a Zadoff-Chu Constant Amplitude Zero Auto Correlation (CAZAC) based sequence with an exponential sequence.

12. The base station of claim 11 , wherein the position information is expressed by one or more of subcarrier offset, number of sub-carriers, timing offset, and/or a number of symbols.

13. The base station of claim 11 , wherein the timing information is expressed by one or more of a timing offset and/or the number of symbols.

14. The base station of claim 11 , wherein multiplying exponential sequences in a time domain is equal to performing a circular shift in a frequency domain.

15. The base station of claim 11 , wherein the user equipment detects repetitive patterns.

16. The base station of claim 11 , wherein the receiver receives a message for a request for scheduling.

17. The base station of claim 11 , wherein the preamble sequence is accompanied by a pilot.

18. The base station of claim 11 , wherein the preamble sequence is accompanied by a wideband pilot.

19. The base station of claim 11 , wherein the user equipment is configured to try random access through an allocated RACH resource by using the position information from the network.

20. The base station of claim 11 , wherein the user equipment is configured to try random access through an allocated RACH resource by using the position information from the network.

21. A method to transmit a preamble sequence from user equipment to a base station to at least improve detection performance comprising:

receiving, at the user equipment, from the base station over a broadcast channel, position information of an allocated random access channel resource, the position information including frequency information and timing information; and

transmitting, from the user equipment, using the position information, and on a random access channel, a preamble sequence to the base station to access a cellular network, wherein the preamble sequence has the form of a single cyclic prefix (CP) concatenated to a front-end of an N-time repetition, where N is an integer greater than 1, of the product of a Zadoff-Chu Constant Amplitude Zero Auto Correlation (CAZAC) based sequence with an exponential sequence.

22. The method of claim 21 , wherein the position information is expressed by one or more of subcarrier offset, number of sub-carriers, timing offset, and/or a number of symbols.

23. The method of claim 21 , wherein the position information was transmitted via a broadcast channel.

24. The method of claim 21 , wherein the timing information is expressed by one or more of a timing offset and/or the number of symbols.

25. The method of claim 21 , wherein multiplying exponential sequences in a time domain is equal to performing a circular shift in a frequency domain.

26. The method of claim 21 , wherein the user equipment detects repetitive patterns.

27. The method of claim 21 , further comprising transmitting uplink data to the base station through an allocated resource.

28. The method of claim 21 , further comprising transmitting a message for a request for scheduling to the base station.

29. The method of claim 21 , wherein the preamble sequence is accompanied by a pilot.

30. The method of claim 21 , further comprising transmitting a wideband pilot.

31. The method of claim 21 , further comprising attempting random access through an allocated RACH resource by using the position information from the network.

32. A non-transitory computer readable information storage media having stored thereon instructions, that when executed by one or more processors, cause to be performed a method to transmit a preamble sequence from user equipment to a base station to at least improve detection performance comprising:

receiving, at the user equipment, from the base station over a broadcast channel, position information of an allocated random access channel resource, the position information including frequency information and timing information; and

transmitting, from the user equipment, using the position information, and on a random access channel, a preamble sequence to the base station to access a cellular network, wherein the preamble sequence has the form of a single cyclic prefix (CP) concatenated to a front-end of an N-time repetition, where N is an integer greater than 1, of the product of a Zadoff-Chu Constant Amplitude Zero Auto Correlation (CAZAC) based sequence with an exponential sequence.

33. The non-transitory computer readable information storage media of claim 32 , wherein the position information is expressed by one or more of subcarrier offset, number of sub-carriers, timing offset, and/or a number of symbols.

34. The non-transitory computer readable information storage media of claim 32 , wherein the position information was transmitted via a broadcast channel.

35. The non-transitory computer readable information storage media of claim 32 , wherein the timing information is expressed by one or more of a timing offset and/or the number of symbols.

36. The non-transitory computer readable information storage media of claim 32 , wherein multiplying exponential sequences in a time domain is equal to performing a circular shift in a frequency domain.

37. The non-transitory computer readable information storage media of claim 32 , wherein the user equipment detects repetitive patterns.

38. The non-transitory computer readable information storage media of claim 32 , further comprising transmitting uplink data to the base station through an allocated resource.

39. The non-transitory computer readable information storage media of claim 32 , further comprising transmitting a message for a request for scheduling to the base station.

40. The non-transitory computer readable information storage media of claim 32 , wherein the preamble sequence is accompanied by a pilot.

41. The non-transitory computer readable information storage media of claim 32 , further comprising transmitting a wideband pilot.

42. The non-transitory computer readable information storage media of claim 32 , further comprising attempting random access through an allocated RACH resource by using the position information from the network.
