PATIENT SUPPORT WITH STAND-UP AND SIT FEATURES
A bed is provided having a base frame, a patient support assembly connected to the base frame, and a tilt frame connected between the base frame and the patient support assembly. The tilt frame is rotatable adjacent the foot end of the bed to place the patient support assembly, including the head section, seat section and foot section thereof, in a generally vertical position to allow a patient to exit the bed in a standing orientation. The bed also has a foot board assembly connected to the foot section, the foot board assembly having a foot board separately moveable about a longitudinal axis of the bed toward the head end and the foot end of the bed.
1 . A mattress for use with a patient support bed, comprising:
one or more air bladders located along a head deck section of the patient support bed, the one or more air bladders providing a patient support surface by inflating and deflating the one or more air bladders, the one or more air bladders including a first side head rotation bladder located on a first side of a head section of the mattress and a second side head rotation bladder located on a second side of the head section of the mattress; and
an air supply control box connected to the one or more air bladders to provide air to the one or more air bladders,
wherein the first side head rotation bladder and the second side head rotation bladder inflate with air at the same time to provide a uniform lumbar support and to move a chest of a patient outwardly.
2 . The mattress of claim 1 , wherein the air supply control box includes an enclosure that houses one or more pumps, a main manifold, and a plurality of valves.
3 . The mattress of claim 1 , further including a bottom encasement that mates with a top encasement to enclose the one or more air bladders.
4 . The mattress of claim 1 , wherein a cross-sectional geometry of the first side head rotation bladder and the second side head rotation bladder is generally circular.
5 . The mattress of claim 1 , wherein a cross-sectional geometry of the first side head rotation bladder and the second side head rotation bladder is generally triangular.
6 . The mattress of claim 1 , further including a low air loss mattress that provides a diffused air flow to the patient support surface to address moisture and heat buildup which aids in micoclimate management.
7 . The mattress of claim 6 , wherein the low air loss mattress includes a low air loss and alternating bladder system that includes a plurality of independent low air loss and alternating pressure mattress sections.
8 . The mattress of claim 7 , wherein the plurality of independent low air loss and alternating pressure mattress sections extend a width of the mattress.
9 . The mattress of claim 7 , wherein the plurality of independent low air loss and alternating pressure mattress sections include a foam member placed inside a bladder filled with air.
10 . The mattress of claim 9 , wherein the foam member includes two separate foam portions, with a gap between the foam members in the middle of the plurality of independent low air loss and alternating pressure mattress sections.
11 . The mattress of claim 10 , wherein the bladder includes a notch to facilitate rotation of the plurality of independent low air loss and alternating pressure mattress sections at a head portion and a seat portion of the mattress.
12 . The mattress of claim 1 , wherein the mattress provides dynamic alternating pressure capabilities by alternating inflating and deflating a plurality of different air cells periodically.
13 . A mattress for use with a patient support bed, comprising:
one or more air bladders that provide a patient support surface by inflating and deflating the one or more air bladders, the one or more air bladders include a first side head rotation bladder located on the first side of a head section mattress and a second side head rotation bladder located on the second side of the head section of the mattress;
an air supply control box connected to the one or more air bladders; and
a lumbar support that includes filling the first side head rotation bladder and the second side head rotation bladder with air at the same time, thus uniformily moving a chest of a patient outwardly,
wherein the one or more air bladders provide dynamic alternating pressure capabilities by alternating inflating and deflating the one or more air bladders periodically.
14 . The mattress of claim 13 , wherein a cross-sectional geometry of the first side head rotation bladder and the second side head rotation bladder is generally circular.
15 . The mattress of claim 13 , wherein a cross-sectional geometry of the first side head rotation bladder and the second side head rotation bladder is generally triangular.
16 . The mattress of claim 13 , further including a low air loss mattress that provides a diffused air flow to the patient support surface to address moisture and heat buildup which aids in micoclimate management.
17 . The mattress of claim 16 , wherein the low air loss mattress includes a low air loss and alternating bladder system that includes a plurality of independent low air loss and alternating pressure mattress sections.
18 . The mattress of claim 17 , wherein the plurality of independent low air loss and alternating pressure mattress sections extend a width of the bed.
19 . The mattress of claim 18 , wherein the plurality of independent low air loss and alternating pressure mattress sections include a foam member placed inside a bladder filled with air.
20 . A patient support bed, comprising:
a base frame;
a patient support assembly connected to the base frame;
a mattress located along the patient support assembly, the mattress including one or more air bladders located along a head deck section of the patient support assembly, the one or more air bladders providing a patient support surface by inflating and deflating the one or more air bladders, the one or more air bladders including a first side head rotation bladder located on the first side of a head section mattress and a second side head rotation bladder located on the second side of the head section of the mattress; and
an air supply control box connected to the one or more air bladders to provide air to the one or more air bladders,
wherein the first side head rotation bladder and the second side head rotation bladder inflate with air at the same time to provide a uniform lumbar support and to move a chest of a patient outwardly.
