Abstract

A remote location monitoring system, for example, a home monitoring or weather monitoring system may include one or more sensors and/or receivers at a first location such as a residence or business to be monitored. The sensors and receivers may communicate with a remote central server via a gateway device and the detection data received from the sensors and receivers may be displayed via display circuitry coupled to a processor of the gateway device. The sensors, receivers, and gateway device may be controlled by users locally or remotely via the server. Users may register to receive remote notifications of weather events and other home monitoring events. Users may also access remotely sensors and receivers to configure alerts, notifications, and automatic responses for the devices and integrated appliances at the first location.

Claims (48)

1. A method, comprising:

receiving, via a first screen outputted to a display of a mobile receiver device, one or more trigger conditions for one or more sensor devices;

receiving, by the mobile receiver device and from a server, first detection data corresponding to a first detection reading and second detection data corresponding to a second detection reading, wherein the first detection data is associated with one or more weather conditions;

comparing, by the mobile receiver device, the first detection data and the second detection data to the one or more trigger conditions;

generating, based on a result of the comparing, a second screen comprising the first detection data, the second detection data, and one or more user-selectable options; and

displaying, by the mobile receiver device, the second screen.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second screen further comprises an alert, and wherein a first trigger condition of the one or more trigger conditions is associated with a plurality of sensor devices.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first detection data is associated with a first sensor device and the second detection data is associated with a second sensor device, the method further comprising:

receiving a selection of a first user-selectable option of the one or more user-selectable options; and

displaying additional detection data.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the additional detection data is associated with one of the first sensor device or the second sensor device.

5. The method of claim 3 , wherein the additional detection data is associated with a third sensor device.

6. A system, comprising:

a server configured to transmit data to a mobile receiver device; and

the mobile receiver device, the mobile receiver device comprising:

a display;

one or more processors; and

memory storing computer executable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the mobile receiver device to:

receive, via a first screen output to the display of the mobile receiver device, one or more trigger conditions for one or more sensor devices;

receive, from the server, first detection data corresponding to a first detection reading and second detection data corresponding to a second detection reading, wherein the first detection data is associated with one or more weather conditions;

compare the first detection data and the second detection data to the one or more trigger conditions;

generate, based on a result of the comparing, a second screen comprising the first detection data, the second detection data, and one or more user-selectable options; and

output, to the display, the second screen.

7. The system of claim 6 , wherein the second screen further comprises an alert, and wherein a first trigger condition of the one or more trigger conditions is associated with a plurality of sensor devices.

8. The system of claim 6 , wherein the first detection data is associated with a first sensor device and the second detection data is associated with a second sensor device, the memory storing computer executable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the mobile receiver device to

receive a selection of a first user-selectable option of the one or more user-selectable options; and

output, to the display, additional detection data.

9. The system of claim 8 , wherein the additional detection data is associated with one of the first sensor device or the second sensor device.

10. The system of claim 8 , wherein the additional detection data is associated with a third sensor device.

11. A mobile receiver device, comprising:

a display;

one or more processors; and

memory storing computer executable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the mobile receiver device to:

receive, via a first screen outputted to the display, one or more trigger conditions for one or more sensor devices;

receive, from a server, first detection data corresponding to a first detection reading and second detection data corresponding to a second detection reading, wherein the first detection data is associated with one or more weather conditions;

compare the first detection data, the second detection data, and the one or more trigger conditions;

generate, based on a result of the comparing, a second screen, the second screen comprising the first detection data and the second detection data, and one or more user-selectable options; and

output, to the display, the second screen.

12. The mobile receiver device of claim 11 , wherein a first trigger condition of the one or more trigger conditions is associated with a plurality of sensor devices.

13. The mobile receiver device of claim 11 , wherein the second screen further comprises an alert.

14. The mobile receiver device of claim 11 , wherein the first detection data is associated with a first sensor device and the second detection data is associate with a second sensor device.

15. The mobile receiver device of claim 14 , the memory storing computer executable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the mobile receiver device to:

output, to the display and in response to receiving a user selection of a first user-selectable option of the one or more user-selectable options, additional data.

16. The mobile receiver device of claim 15 , wherein the additional data is associated with a third sensor device.

17. The mobile receiver device of claim 15 , wherein the additional data is associated with one of the first sensor device or the second sensor device.

18. The mobile receiver device of claim 11 , wherein a first trigger condition is a predetermined range.

19. The mobile receiver device of claim 18 , wherein the result indicates that one or more of the first detection data and the second detection data is within the predetermined range.

20. The mobile receiver device of claim 17 , wherein a first sensor device of the one or more sensor devices comprises a Wi-Fi enabled device.
