Abstract

A digital content provider server comprises a memory and a processor configured for: receiving respective unique authentication tokens from each of a first device and a second device, and transferring to a content selection interface on the first device an indication of content available from a content provider, wherein the content selection interface is associated with an application installed on the first device. The memory and processor are further configured for: transmitting selected content to the first device in response to a user selection of content available from the content provider server at the first device, and automatically transmitting the selected content to the second device.

Claims (70)

1. A first device having a memory and a processor, the first device configured for:

receiving, on a content selection interface of a first device, an indication of content available from a content provider server, wherein the content selection interface is associated with an application installed on the first device; and

receiving selected content in response to a user selection of content available from the content provider server,

wherein a representation of the selected content is automatically transmitted from the content provider server to a second device,

wherein the second device includes a content selection interface associated with an application installed thereon,

wherein the application installed on the first device is branded by the same entity that brands the application installed on the second device,

wherein each of the first device and the second device transmit a respective unique authentication token for authenticating each of the first device and the second device,

wherein authentication of the first device and the second device is based on a same user account,

wherein the selected content is received at the first device through a first wireless connection and the representation of the selected content is received at the second device through a second wireless connection distinct from the first wireless connection,

wherein when content is selected for download at the second device through the content selection interface, a representation of the content is automatically transmitted to the first device through the first wireless connection,

wherein the automatic transmission of the representation of the selected content is transmitted according to a user preference setting.

2. The first device of claim 1 , wherein the first device is further configured for:

transmitting an authorization to purchase the selected content to the content provider server.

3. The first device of claim 1 , wherein the representation of the selected content is received at the first device at a first time and received at the second device at a subsequent time.

4. The first device of claim 1 , wherein the first device is configured to transmit additional content, and the additional content is photographs.

5. The first device of claim 1 , wherein the selected content received at the first device has a different resolution for display thereon from the content received at the second device for display thereon.

6. The first device of claim 1 , wherein the representation is a copy of the selected content.

7. A digital content provider server comprising:

a memory; and

a processor configured for:

receiving respective unique authentication tokens from each of a first device and a second device;

transferring to a content selection interface on the first device an indication of content available from a content provider, wherein the content selection interface is associated with an application installed on the first device;

wherein the second device includes a content selection interface associated with an application installed thereon,

wherein the application installed on the first device is branded by the same entity that brands the application installed on the second device,

wherein authentication of the first device and the second device is based on a same user account,

transmitting selected content to the first device in response to a user selection of content available from the content provider server at the first device; and

automatically transmitting the selected content to the second device,

wherein the selected content is transmitted to the first device through a first wireless connection and to the second device through a second wireless connection distinct from the first wireless connection,

wherein when content is selected for download at the second device through the content selection interface, a representation of the content is automatically transmitted to the first device through the first wireless connection,

wherein the automatic transmission of the representation of the selected content is transmitted according to a user preference setting.

8. The server of claim 7 , wherein the first device is further configured for:

transmitting an authorization to purchase the selected content to the content server.

9. The server of claim 7 , wherein the representation of the selected content is received at the first device at a first time and received at the second device at a subsequent time.

10. The server of claim 7 , wherein the first device is configured to transmit additional content, and the additional content is photographs.

11. The server of claim 7 , wherein the selected content received at the first device has a different resolution for display thereon from the content received at the second device for display thereon.

12. The server of claim 7 , wherein the representation is a copy of the selected content.

13. A first device having a memory and a processor, the first device configured for:

receiving, on a content selection interface of a first device, an indication of content available from a content provider server, wherein the content selection interface is associated with an application installed on the first device; and

receiving selected content in response to a user selection of content available from the content provider server,

wherein a copy of the selected content is automatically transmitted from the content provider server to a second device,

wherein the second device includes a content selection interface associated with an application installed thereon,

wherein the application installed on the first device is branded by the same entity that brands the application installed on the second device,

wherein each of the first device and the second device transmit a respective unique authentication token for authenticating each of the first device and the second device,

wherein authentication of the first device and the second device is based on a same user account,

wherein the selected content is received at the first device through a first wireless connection and the copy of the selected content is received at the second device through a second wireless connection distinct from the first wireless connection,

wherein when content is selected for download at the second device through the content selection interface, a copy of the content is automatically transmitted to the first device through the first wireless connection,

wherein the automatic transmission of the copy of the selected content is transmitted according to a user preference setting.

14. The first device of claim 13 , wherein the first device is further configured for:

transmitting an authorization to purchase the selected content to the content provider server.

15. The first device of claim 13 , wherein the copy of the selected content is received at the first device at a first time and received at the second device at a subsequent time.

16. The first device of claim 13 , wherein the first device is configured to transmit additional content, and the additional content is photographs.

17. The first device of claim 13 , wherein the selected content received at the first device has a different resolution for display thereon from the content received at the second device for display thereon.

18. A digital content provider server comprising:

a memory; and

a processor configured for:
