AUTOMATED CLINICAL DOCUMENTATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A method, computer program product, and computing system for obtaining encounter information of a patient encounter; processing the encounter information to generate an encounter transcript; processing at least a portion of the encounter transcript to populate at least a portion of a medical record associated with the patient encounter; providing the medical record to a medical professional; and enabling the medical professional to influence the medical record.
1 . A computer-implemented method, executed on a computing device, comprising:
obtaining encounter information of a patient encounter;
processing the encounter information to generate an encounter transcript;
processing at least a portion of the encounter transcript to populate at least a portion of a medical record associated with the patient encounter;
providing the medical record to a medical professional; and
enabling the medical professional to influence the medical record.
2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein obtaining encounter information of a patient encounter includes one or more of:
obtaining encounter information from the medical professional;
obtaining encounter information from a patient; and
obtaining encounter information obtaining encounter information from a third party.
3 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein providing the medical record to a medical professional includes one or more of:
providing a text-based copy of the medical record to the medical professional; and
providing an audio-based copy of the medical record to the medical professional.
4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein enabling the medical professional to influence the medical record includes:
enabling the medical professional to provide verbal feedback concerning the medical record.
5 . The computer-implemented method of claim 4 further comprising:
amending the medical record based, at least in part, upon the verbal feedback.
6 . The computer-implemented method of claim 5 wherein the verbal feedback concerns including pertinent information in the medical record, and amending the medical record based, at least in part, upon the verbal feedback includes:
obtaining the pertinent information from the encounter transcript; and
modifying the medical record based, at least in part, upon the pertinent information.
7 . The computer-implemented method of claim 5 wherein the verbal feedback concerns removing non--pertinent information from the medical record, and amending the medical record based, at least in part, upon the verbal feedback includes:
modifying the medical record based, at least in part, upon the non-pertinent information.
8 . A computer program product residing on a computer readable medium having a plurality of instructions stored thereon which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:
obtaining encounter information of a patient encounter;
processing the encounter information to generate an encounter transcript;
processing at least a portion of the encounter transcript to populate at least a portion of a medical record associated with the patient encounter;
providing the medical record to a medical professional; and
enabling the medical professional to influence the medical record.
9 . The computer program product of claim 8 wherein obtaining encounter information of a patient encounter includes one or more of:
obtaining encounter information from the medical professional;
obtaining encounter information from a patient; and
obtaining encounter information obtaining encounter information from a third party.
10 . The computer program product of claim 8 wherein providing the medical record to a medical professional includes one or more of:
providing a text-based copy of the medical record to the medical professional; and
providing an audio--based copy of the medical record to the medical professional.
11 . The computer program product of claim 8 wherein enabling the medical professional to influence the medical record includes:
enabling the medical professional to provide verbal feedback concerning the medical record.
12 . The computer program product of claim 11 further comprising:
amending the medical record based, at least in part, upon the verbal feedback.
13 . The computer program product of claim 12 wherein the verbal feedback concerns including pertinent information in the medical record, and amending the medical record based, at least in part, upon the verbal feedback includes:
obtaining the pertinent information from the encounter transcript; and
modifying the medical record based, at least in part, upon the pertinent information.
14 . The computer program product of claim 12 wherein the verbal feedback concerns removing non-pertinent information from the medical record, and amending the medical record based, at least in part, upon the verbal feedback includes:
modifying the medical record based, at least in part, upon the non-pertinent information.
15 . A computing system including a processor and memory configured to perform operations comprising:
obtaining encounter information of a patient encounter;
processing the encounter information to generate an encounter transcript;
processing at least a portion of the encounter transcript to populate at least a portion of a medical record associated with the patient encounter;
providing the medical record to a medical professional; and
enabling the medical professional to influence the medical record.
16 . The computing system of claim 15 wherein obtaining encounter information of a patient encounter includes one or more of:
obtaining encounter information from the medical professional;
obtaining encounter information from a patient; and
obtaining encounter information obtaining encounter information from a third party.
17 . The computing system of claim 15 wherein providing the medical record to a professional includes one or of:
providing a text-based copy of the medical record to the medical professional; and
providing an audio-based copy of the medical record to the medical professional.
18 . The computing system of claim 15 wherein enabling the medical professional to influence the medical record includes:
enabling the medical professional to provide verbal feedback concerning the medical record.
19 . The computing system of claim 18 further comprising:
amending the medical record based, at least in part, upon the verbal feedback.
20 . The computing system of claim 19 wherein the verbal feedback concerns including pertinent information in the medical record, and amending the medical record based, at least in part, upon the verbal feedback includes:
obtaining the pertinent information from the encounter transcript; and
modifying the medical record based, at least in part, upon the pertinent information.
21 . The computing system of claim 19 wherein the verbal feedback concerns removing non-pertinent information from the medical record, and amending the medical record based, at least in part, upon the verbal feedback includes:
modifying the medical record based, at least in part, upon the non-pertinent information.
