Abstract

The capacitive sensor apparatus includes: a sensor element disposed on the first surface of the mounting member; and a floating conductor that is disposed on the second surface of the mounting member and is electrically conductive, the floating conductor being electrically disconnected from the sensor element. The sensor element includes: a first electrode; and a second electrode in a shape of a ring surrounding an outer periphery of the first electrode and being electrically disconnected from the first electrode. The floating conductor overlaps at least the first electrode in a projection view seen from the first surface.

Claims (25)

1. A capacitive sensor apparatus that is attached to a mounting member having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface, and configured to receive a contact operation toward the second surface performed by an operation body, the capacitive sensor apparatus comprising:

a sensor element disposed on the first surface of the mounting member;

a floating conductor that is disposed on the second surface of the mounting member and is electrically conductive, the floating conductor being electrically disconnected from the sensor element and a ground; and

a holding part that provides a space between the first surface of the mounting member and the sensor element, wherein

the sensor element includes:

a first electrode; and

a second electrode in a shape of a ring surrounding an outer periphery of the first electrode and being electrically disconnected from the first electrode, and

the floating conductor overlaps at least the first electrode in a projection view seen from the first surface, wherein

the floating conductor is formed such that the floating conductor at least partially overlaps the first electrode and partially overlaps the second electrode in the projection view, and

the outer periphery of the floating conductor is positioned closer to a central portion of the capacitive sensor apparatus than an outer periphery of the second electrode in the projection view and at least a part of the outer periphery of the floating conductor is positioned farther from the central portion of the capacitive sensor apparatus than an inner periphery of the second electrode in the projection view.

2. The capacitive sensor apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein

a surface area of the floating conductor is larger than an area that comes into contact with the operation body.

3. The capacitive sensor apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein

a surface of the floating conductor is covered with a resin.

4. The capacitive sensor apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein

the capacitive sensor apparatus is configured to receive a proximity operation toward the second surface performed by the operation body, the proximity operation being an operation that brings the operation body into proximity with the floating conductor, and

the capacitive sensor apparatus further comprising a controller that is electrically connected to the first electrode and the second electrode, wherein

the controller is configured to perform:

a first measurement in which the controller scans both the first electrode and the second electrode;

a second measurement in which the controller scans only the first electrode with the second electrode being connected to a ground; and

a third measurement in which the controller scans only the second electrode with the first electrode being connected to the ground, and

the controller detects measured values of capacitance of the sensor element by performing the first measurement, the second measurement, and the third measurement, and determines whether an operation performed by the operation body is the proximity operation or the contact operation, based on amounts of change in the measured values of the capacitance of the sensor element.

5. The capacitive sensor apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the holding part is arranged on the first surface.

6. The capacitive sensor apparatus according to claim 5 , wherein

the holding part provides the space between (i) the first surface of the mounting member opposite the second surface on which the floating conductor at least partially overlaps the part of the first electrode and partially overlaps the second electrode in the projection view and (ii) the second electrode being electrically disconnected from the first electrode.
