Claims (20)

1. An accessory arm for a lift truck, comprising:

a first L-shaped member comprised of a first leg and a second leg;

a second L-shaped member comprised of a first leg and a second leg, and coupled to the first L-shaped member;

wherein:

the first leg of the first L-shaped member is pivotably secured to a substantially vertical first frame member of the lift truck so that the accessory arm pivots away from the lift truck in a plane substantially parallel to a surface upon which the lift truck is sitting;

the second leg of the first L-shaped member is detachably secured to a second frame member of the lift truck at a point on the second frame member; and

the first leg of the first L-shaped member is pivotably secured to the substantially vertical first frame member so that an end of the second leg of the first L-shaped member, distal from the first leg of the first L-shaped member, is vertically elevated above the point on the second frame member when the accessory arm is pivoted away from the lift truck.

2. The accessory arm of claim 1 , wherein the first leg of the second L-shaped member is attached to the first leg of the first L-shaped member, and the second leg of the second L-shaped member is attached to the second leg of the first L-shaped member.

3. The accessory arm of claim 1 , wherein the first leg of the first L-shaped member is pivotably secured to the first frame member at a first point and a second point distal from the first point.

4. The accessory arm of claim 3 , wherein the second leg of the first L-shaped member is detachably secured to the second frame member with a latching mechanism.

5. The accessory arm of claim 1 , further comprising an accessory mount that is releasably attached to the first L-shaped member or the second L-shaped member.

6. The accessory arm of claim 1 , wherein the first L-shaped member further comprises a plurality of apertures disposed along its first leg and second leg.

7. The accessory arm of claim 6 , wherein the plurality of apertures are spaced apart from each other a uniform distance.

8. The accessory arm of claim 6 , further comprising an accessory mount that affixes to one of the plurality of apertures.

9. The accessory arm of claim 1 , wherein the second L-shaped member further comprises a plurality of apertures disposed along its first leg and second leg.

10. The accessory arm of claim 9 , wherein the plurality of apertures are spaced apart from each other a uniform distance.

11. The accessory arm of claim 1 , wherein the first L-shaped member and/or the second L-shaped member has a hollow center.

12. The accessory arm of claim 11 , wherein the first L-shaped member and/or the second L-shaped member has a circular, oval, or rectangular cross-section.

13. The accessory arm of claim 1 , wherein the first L-shaped member and/or the second L-shaped member have a solid cross-section.

14. The accessory arm of claim 1 , wherein the first leg of the first L-shaped member is pivotably secured to a substantially vertical first frame member of the lift truck at first and second locations.
