GIP agonist compounds and methods

1. A GIP analogue represented by the formula:

Y-Aib-EGTFISDYSIELDK-K((19-Carboxy-nonadecanoyl)-

[(Piperazine-1-yl)-acetyl]-Peg3-Peg3)-

AAQAFIEWLLAQGPSSGAPPPS,

wherein

R 1 is H—, Ac or pGlu;

R 2 is —NH 2 or —OH;

and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.

2. The GIP analogue of claim 1 , wherein said GIP analogue is compound 41:

H-Y-Aib-EGTFISDYSIELDK-K((19-Carboxy-nonadecanoyl)-

[(Piperazine-1-yl)-acetyl]-Peg3-Peg3)-AAQAFIEWLLAQ

GPSSGAPPPS-NH 2  (Compound 41),

or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
