Abstract

A wireless device receives at least one radio resource control message comprising configuration parameters of a cell. The configuration parameters comprise: a cell index identifying the cell; and an index identifying a plurality of downlink subcarriers as a pathloss reference signal of the cell. The plurality of downlink subcarriers identified by the index are measured to determine a pathloss for uplink transmission of at least one uplink signal. An uplink transmission power for the at least one uplink signal is determined based on the pathloss. The at least one uplink signal employing the uplink transmission power is transmitted via a plurality of uplink subcarriers.

Claims (46)

1. A method comprising:

receiving, by a wireless device, at least one radio resource control message comprising configuration parameters of a cell, the configuration parameters comprising:

a cell index identifying the cell; and

an index identifying downlink subcarriers as a pathloss reference signal of the cell;

measuring the downlink subcarriers identified by the index to determine a pathloss for uplink transmission of at least one uplink signal;

determining an uplink transmission power for the at least one uplink signal based on the pathloss; and

transmitting, via uplink subcarriers, the at least one uplink signal employing the uplink transmission power.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the index indicates a cell index of a first secondary cell different from the cell.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the configuration parameters indicate cells, comprising the cell, are grouped into cell groups comprising:

a first cell group comprising a primary cell; and

a second cell group comprising the cell.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein:

the cell is a first secondary cell; and

the index indicates an index of a second secondary cell different from the first secondary cell.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the cell comprises the downlink subcarriers.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the cell is identified by a physical cell identifier different from the cell index.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the configuration parameters indicate cells, comprising the cell, are grouped into timing advance groups comprising:

a primary timing advance group comprising a primary cell; and

a secondary timing advance group comprising the cell.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the downlink subcarriers are contiguous downlink subcarriers.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the index is a radio resource control (RRC) dedicated configuration parameter.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the downlink subcarriers and the uplink subcarriers are in a same frequency band.

11. A wireless device comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:

receive at least one radio resource control message comprising configuration parameters of a cell, the configuration parameters comprising:

a cell index identifying the cell; and

an index identifying downlink subcarriers as a pathloss reference signal of the cell;

measure the downlink subcarriers identified by the index to determine a pathloss for uplink transmission of at least one uplink signal;

determine an uplink transmission power for the at least one uplink signal based on the pathloss; and

transmit, via uplink subcarriers, the at least one uplink signal employing the uplink transmission power.

12. The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the index indicates a cell index of a first secondary cell different from the cell.

13. The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the configuration parameters indicate cells, comprising the cell, are grouped into cell groups comprising:

a first cell group comprising a primary cell; and

a second cell group comprising the cell.

14. The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein:

the cell is a first secondary cell; and

the index indicates an index of a second secondary cell different from the first secondary cell.

15. The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the cell comprises the downlink subcarriers.

16. The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the cell is identified by a physical cell identifier different from the cell index.

17. The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the configuration parameters indicate cells, comprising the cell, are grouped into timing advance groups comprising:

a primary timing advance group comprising a primary cell; and

a secondary timing advance group comprising the cell.

18. The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the downlink subcarriers are contiguous downlink subcarriers.

19. The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the index is a radio resource control (RRC) dedicated configuration parameter.

20. The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the downlink subcarriers and the uplink subcarriers are in a same frequency band.
