Abstract

Provided herein are pharmaceutical compositions comprising tumoricidal and/or antimicrobial components isolated from the supernatant of NK-92 cell medium and methods of using the compositions for killing cancer cells.

Claims (20)

1. A pharmaceutical composition formulated for topical use comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and one or more isolated components from NK-92 cells, wherein the one or more components comprise exosomes and microvesicles, wherein the exosomes and microvesicles are tumoricidal and/or anti-microbial.

2. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the topical formulation is liquid at room temperature and becomes a gel when applied to the body.

3. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the topical formulation comprises a poloxamer.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition is a cream or lotion.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the exosomes and/or microvesicles are isolated from a defined subpopulation of NK-92 cells.

6. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the NK-92 cells are treated with at least one stimulatory agent prior to isolation of the exosomes and/or microvesicles.

7. The composition of claim 6 , wherein the at least one stimulatory agent is IL-15 and/or interferon gamma.

8. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the NK-92 cells comprise wild type NK-92 cells.

9. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the NK-92 cells comprise modified NK-92 cells.

10. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the NK-92 cells comprise NK-92 cells modified to express an Fc receptor, a cytokine, a cytokine receptor and/or a chimeric antigen receptor.

11. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition further comprises one or more cytokines.

12. The composition of claim 11 , wherein the one or more cytokines includes at least IL-2.

13. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical acceptable carrier comprises a thickening agent.

14. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the exosomes and microvesicles are tumoricidal.

15. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition is a gel.

16. The composition of claim 15 , wherein the gel is a hydrogel or a collagen gel.

17. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the topical formulation provides sustained release of the exosomes and/or microvesicles.

18. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition further comprises one or more additional antimicrobial agents.

19. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition is an emulsion, oil, ointment, paste, milk, or foam.

20. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition further comprises a surfactant and/or emulsifier.
