Abstract

Provided herein are pharmaceutical compositions comprising tumoricidal and/or antimicrobial components isolated from the supernatant of NK-92 cell medium and methods of using the compositions for killing cancer cells.

Claims (17)

1. A method for treating an infection in a patient comprising administering an effective amount of the pharmaceutical composition to the patient so as to treat the infection, wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and at least one of isolated exosomes or microvesicles from NK-92 cells, wherein the NK-92 cells do not express CD-16.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises a sterile aqueous solution.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the administering the pharmaceutical composition is by injection.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the administering the pharmaceutical composition is by subdermal or subcutaneous injection.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition is an extended release formulation.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition is a topical formulation.

7. The method of claim 6 , wherein the topical formulation is liquid at room temperature and becomes a gel when applied to the body.

8. The method of claim 6 , wherein the topical formulation comprises a poloxamer.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the NK-92 cells comprise wild type NK-92 cells.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the NK-92 cells comprise modified NK-92 cells.

11. The method of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical acceptable carrier comprises a thickening agent.

12. The method of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition further comprises one or more cytokines.

13. The method of claim 12 , wherein the one or more cytokines include at least IL-2.

14. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more NK-92 cells are treated with at least one stimulatory agent prior to isolation of the one or more components.

15. The method of claim 14 , wherein the at least one stimulatory agent is IL-15 or interferon gamma.

16. The method of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises one or more additional antimicrobial agents.

17. The method of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises a surfactant, emulsifier, preservative, stabilizer, or any combination thereof.
