TABLETED CANNABINOID CHEWING GUM WITH IMPROVED RELEASE
The present invention relates to a tableted chewing gum composition for oral administration of cannabinoids, the composition comprising water-soluble chewing gum ingredients and water-insoluble gum base located in a plurality of particles, wherein the chewing gum composition comprises one or more cannabinoids, and wherein the release rate of the one or more cannabinoids is more than 20% by weight of the one or more cannabinoids within the first 5 minutes upon oral administration.

98 . A tableted chewing gum composition for oral administration of cannabinoids, the composition comprising water-soluble chewing gum ingredients and water-insoluble gum base located in a plurality of particles,
wherein the chewing gum composition comprises one or more cannabinoids, and
wherein the release rate of the one or more cannabinoids is more than 20% by weight of the one or more cannabinoids within the first 5 minutes upon oral administration.
99 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 98 , wherein the release rate of the one or more cannabinoids is more than 30% by weight of the one or more cannabinoids within the first 5 minutes upon oral administration.
100 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 98 , wherein the release rate of the one or more cannabinoids is at least 40% by weight of the one or more cannabinoids within the first 5 minutes upon oral administration.
101 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 98 , wherein the release rate of the one or more cannabinoids is more than 20 and less than 75% by weight of the one or more cannabinoids within the first 5 minutes upon oral administration.
102 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 98 , wherein the release rate of the one or more cannabinoids is more than 20 and less than 60% by weight of the one or more cannabinoids within the first 5 minutes upon oral administration.
103 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 98 , wherein the gum base comprising one or more natural resins in an amount of 10-40% by weight of the gum base.
104 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 98 , wherein the gum base comprising one or more polyvinyl acetate elastomer plasticizers in an amount of 8-50% by weight of the gum base.
105 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 98 , wherein the plurality of particles including a first population of particles comprising water-insoluble gum base and a second population of particles comprising water-soluble chewing gum ingredients.
106 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 105 , wherein the first population of particles is present in an amount of at least 15% by weight of the tableted chewing gum composition.
107 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 105 , wherein the second population of particles is present in an amount of at least 40% by weight of the tableted chewing gum composition.
108 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 105 , wherein the content of water-insoluble gum base of the first population of particles is more than 90% by weight of the first population of particles.

The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 105 , wherein the content of water-soluble chewing gum ingredients of the second population of particles is more than 90% by weight of the second population of particles, the second population of particles being free of water-insoluble gum base.
110 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 105 , wherein the one or more cannabinoids are present in the second population of particles comprising water-soluble chewing gum ingredients.
111 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 105 , wherein the first population of particles and the second population of particles are substantially homogeneously distributed in a first layer of the tableted chewing gum composition.

The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 98 , wherein the water-insoluble gum base is partly located in a first layer of the chewing gum composition and the water-soluble chewing gum ingredients are partly located in a second layer of the chewing gum composition together with the one or more cannabinoids.
113 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 98 , wherein the tableted chewing gum composition consists of two layers where a first layer is cohered to and adjacent to a second layer.
114 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 98 , wherein the one or more cannabinoids are part of the water-soluble chewing gum ingredients.
115 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 98 , wherein the one or more cannabinoids are located in a second layer of the chewing gum composition.
116 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 98 , wherein the one or more cannabinoids are both comprised in a first layer of the chewing gum composition and in a second layer of the chewing gum composition.
117 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 98 , wherein the one or more cannabinoids are present in an amount of 0.1 to 200 mg.
118 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 98 , wherein the one or more cannabinoids comprise cannabidiol (CBD), cannabidiolic acid (CBDA), cannabidivarin (CBDV), salts and derivatives thereof.
119 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 98 , wherein the one or more cannabinoids comprise tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA), tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV), salts and derivatives thereof.
120 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 98 , wherein the one or more cannabinoids are present in a pre-mixture with one or more sugar alcohols or one or more sugars.
121 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 98 , wherein the one or more cannabinoids form part of a complex with cyclodextrin.
122 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 98 , wherein the one or more cannabinoids comprise at least one phytocannabinoid that forms part of an extract.
123 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 98 , wherein the chewing gum further comprising terpenes, such as at least one terpene that forms part of an extract.
124 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 98 , wherein the one or more cannabinoids comprise at least one isolated cannabinoid.
125 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 98 , wherein the one or more cannabinoids comprise at least one water-soluble cannabinoid.
126 . The tableted chewing gum composition according to claim 98 , wherein the chewing gum comprises one or more solubilizers.
