Epinephrine spray formulations
The present invention is directed to epinephrine spray formulations. The present invention is further directed to methods of treating anaphylaxis by administering epinephrine spray formulations to subjects in need of such treatments.
1. An epinephrine spray formulation comprising:
from about 3% to about 5% w/w epinephrine base;
from about 20% to about 25% w/w hydrochloric acid with a normality of about 1.0N;
from about 35% to about 45% w/w ethanol;
from about 2.5% to about 7.5% w/w propylene glycol; and
from about 20% to about 40% w/w water.
2. An epinephrine spray formulation comprising:
about 3.885% w/w epinephrine base;
about 21.681% w/w hydrochloric acid with a normality of about 1.0N;
about 0.05% w/w edetate disodium dihydrate;
about 0.184% w/w sodium bisulfite;
about 0.01% w/w benzalkonium chloride;
about 40.0% w/w ethanol;
about 5.0% w/w propylene glycol; and
about 29.190% w/w water.
3. An epinephrine spray formulation comprising:
from about 3% to about 6% w/w epinephrine base;
from about 20% to about 30% w/w hydrochloric acid with a normality of about 1.0N;
from about 35% to about 45% w/w ethanol;
from about 2.5% to about 7.5% w/w propylene glycol; and
from about 20% to about 30% w/w water.
4. An epinephrine spray formulation comprising:
about 4.702% w/w epinephrine base;
about 26.241% w/w hydrochloric acid with a normality of about 1.0N;
about 0.05% w/w edetate disodium dihydrate;
about 0.223% w/w sodium bisulfite;
about 0.01% w/w benzalkonium chloride;
about 40.0% w/w ethanol;
about 5.0% w/w propylene glycol; and
about 23.774% w/w water.
