Abstract

Methods and systems are described for automatic system access using facial recognition. According to at least one embodiment, an apparatus for automatic system access using facial recognition includes a processor, a memory in electronic communication with the processor, and instructions stored in the memory which are executable by a processor to identify faces of a plurality of persons relative to a premises, and determine, based at least in part on the identifying, a first person from the plurality of persons satisfies a frequent occupant threshold. The instructions are executable recognize the first person at the premises after determining the first person from the plurality of persons satisfies the frequent occupant threshold and initiate a change of state of a security and/or automation system based at least in part on the recognizing.

Claims (56)

1. A method for security and/or automation systems, comprising:

detecting, by a processor of a security and/or automation system, a person relative to a premises;

determining, by the processor of the security and/or automation system, a count associated with the person based at least in part on a number of times the person is detected;

determining, by the processor of the security and/or automation system, that the person is a frequent occupant based at least in part on determining the count;

retrieving, by the processor of the security and/or automation system, a predefined profile of user preferences associated with the determined frequent occupant; and

initiating, by the processor of the security and/or automation system, a change of state of a device associated with Flail the security and/or automation system based at least in part on the predefined profile of user preferences associated with the determined frequent occupant.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein determining that the person is the frequent occupant further comprises:

comparing the count to a frequency occupant threshold.

3. The method of claim 2 , further comprising:

determining that the count satisfies the frequency occupant threshold based at least in part on the comparing.

4. The method of claim 2 , further comprising:

receiving, from an authorized occupant of the premises, the frequency occupant threshold, wherein the comparing is based at least in part on receiving the frequency occupant threshold.

5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining that the person is a last person to exit the premises based at least in part on detecting the person relative to the premises.

6. The method of claim 5 , wherein initiating the change of state of the device further comprises:

setting the security and/or automation system in an armed state based at least in part on determining the person is the last person to exit the premises.

7. The method of claim 5 , further comprising:

updating a status of the device associated with the security and/or automation systems based at least in part on determining that the person is the last person to exit the premises.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein initiating the change of state of the device further comprises:

refraining from setting the security and/or automation system in an armed state based at least in part on determining that the person is the frequent occupant.

9. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining an identity of the person, wherein determining the count associated with the person is based at least in part on determining the identity of the person.

10. The method of claim 9 , further comprising:

determining a facial feature associated with the person based at least in part on determining the identity of the person.

11. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

recognizing the person at the premises based at least in part on determining that the person is the frequent occupant.

12. The method of claim 1 , wherein determining the count is in relation to a predetermined time period.

13. An apparatus for security and/or automation systems, comprising:

a processor;

memory in electronic communication with the processor; and

instructions stored in the memory, the instructions being executable by the processor to:

detect, by the processor of a security and/or automation system, a person relative to a premises;

determine, by the processor of the security and/or automation system, a count associated with the person based at least in part on a number of times the person is detected;

determine, by the processor of the security and/or automation system, that the person is a frequent occupant based at least in part on determining the count;

retrieve, by the processor of the security and/or automation system, a predefined profile of user preferences associated with the determined frequent occupant; and

initiate, by the processor of the security and/or automation system, a change of state of a device associated with Flail the security and/or automation system based at least in part on the predefined profile of user preferences associated with the determined frequent occupant.

14. The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the instructions further executable by the processor:

compare the count to a frequency occupant threshold.

15. The apparatus of claim 14 , wherein the instructions further executable by the processor to:

determine that the count satisfies the frequency occupant threshold based at least in part on the comparing.

16. The apparatus of claim 14 , wherein the instructions further executable by the processor to:

receive, from an authorized occupant of the premises, the frequency occupant threshold, wherein the comparing is based at least in part on receiving the frequency occupant threshold.

17. The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the instructions further executable by the processor to:

determine that the person is a last person to exit the premises based at least in part on detecting the person relative to the premises.

18. The apparatus of claim 17 , wherein the instructions further executable by the processor to:

set the security and/or automation system in an armed state based at least in part on determining the person is the last person to exit the premises; and

update a status of the device associated with the security and/or automation systems based at least in part on determining that the person is the last person to exit the premises.

19. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable code, the code executable by a processor to:

detect, by the processor of a security and/or automation system, a person relative to a premises;

determine, by the processor of the security and/or automation system, a count associated with the person based at least in part on a number of times the person is detected;

determine, by the processor of the security and/or automation system, that the person is a frequent occupant based at least in part on determining the count;

retrieve, by the processor of the security and/or automation system, a predefined profile of user preferences associated with the determined frequent occupant; and

initiate, by the processor of the security and/or automation system, a change of state of a device associated with Flail the security and/or automation system based at least in part on the predefined profile of user preferences associated with the determined frequent occupant.

20. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 19 , wherein the code further executable by the processor to:

compare the count to a frequency occupant threshold; and

determine that the count satisfies the frequency occupant threshold based at least in part on the comparing.
