Abstract

[Object] To make it possible to make impact absorption at the time of a collision even when there is no sufficient space. [Solution] An impact absorption member according to the present invention includes: a member that is placed adjacent to an exterior material 110 of an automobile and in which a height in a direction orthogonal to the exterior material is larger than a width in a direction along the exterior material in a cross section orthogonal to an extending direction of the member. By this configuration, a first member 122 and a second member 124 are arranged so as to extend in different directions and be adjacent to the exterior material 110 of an automobile, and therefore impact absorption at the time of a collision can be made even when there is no sufficient space.

Claims (33)

1. An impact absorption member comprising:

a first member extending in a first direction;

a second member extending in a second direction different from the first direction and crossing the first member; and

a cross portion between the first member and the second member,

the first member and the second member being placed adjacent to an exterior material of an automobile,

a height of the first member in a direction orthogonal to the exterior material being larger than a width of the first member in a direction along the exterior material in a cross section orthogonal to an extending direction of the first member,

a height of the second member in a direction orthogonal to the exterior material being larger than a width of the second member in a direction along the exterior material in a cross section orthogonal to an extending direction of the second member, and

the exterior material is an exterior material of a door of an automobile, an exterior material of a fender of an automobile, an exterior material of a hood of an automobile, or an exterior material of a roof of an automobile,

wherein the first member and the second member are each a hollow structure in which a sheet material is bent, and has a first surface adjacent to the exterior material and a second surface that is larger than the first surface in width orthogonal to the extending direction and is placed apart from the first surface.

2. The impact absorption member according to claim 1 , comprising:

two or more said first members; and

two or more said cross portions.

3. The impact absorption member according to claim 2 ,

wherein a cross portion between a first member and the second member in which the second member is placed on a side of the exterior material is present between two cross portions between two first members and the second member in which the two first members are placed on the side of the exterior material.

4. The impact absorption member according to claim 1 ,

wherein the first member and the second member are joined to the exterior material.

5. The impact absorption member according to claim 1 ,

wherein thicknesses of the first member and the second member in the direction orthogonal to the exterior material are reduced in the cross portion.

6. The impact absorption member according to claim 1 ,

wherein the first member or the second member traverses the exterior material.

7. The impact absorption member according to claim 1 ,

wherein a supported portion supported on an opposite side to the exterior material is present in at least one place in a longitudinal direction of the first member or the second member, and

a distance between the cross portion and the supported portion is within ⅓ of a length of the first member or the second member in which the supported portion is present.

8. The impact absorption member according to claim 7 ,

wherein the supported portion is an end portion of the first member or the second member.

9. The impact absorption member according to claim 7 ,

wherein the supported portion is joined to some other component than the exterior material.

10. The impact absorption member according to claim 1 ,

wherein the second surface is divided along the extending direction.

11. The impact absorption member according to claim 1 ,

wherein the first member and the second member each has a martensite structure.

12. The impact absorption member according to claim 1 ,

wherein the first member and the second member do not contact with a panel that is paired with the exterior material.
