Abstract

The present disclosure provides an intelligent lighting control system. The lighting control system detects a temperature reading from a temperature sensor of each light control module in a plurality of light control modules. Each light control module in the plurality of light control modules is configured to cause a transmission of a quantity of electrical energy to a lighting circuit of a light fixture electrically connected to the respective lighting control module. The lighting control system controls at least one of a heating and an air conditioning system to adjust heating or cooling based on the temperatures detected by the temperature sensor of the light control module.

Claims (14)

1. A method of using a lighting control system for temperature control comprising:

detecting temperature readings from a temperature sensor included in each of a plurality of light control modules, wherein each light control module is configured to cause a transmission of a quantity of electrical energy to a lighting circuit of a light fixture electrically connected to the light control module;

grouping one or more temperature sensors of the lighting control modules into a first group corresponding to an interior wall based on the temperature readings being within a pre-determined range of one another; and

controlling at least one of a heater and an air conditioning system to adjust one of heating and cooling by the one of the heater and the air conditioning system based on the temperature readings of the first group of temperature sensors.

2. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising determining an average temperature from the temperature readings.

3. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising changing the adjustment to the one of heating and cooling in response to the light control module changing the transmission of the quantity of electrical energy to the lighting circuit of the light fixture.

4. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising generating a thermal map based on locations of the light control modules.

5. The method according to claim 4 , further comprising determining a distance between the light control modules via transmission of a wireless signal from one light control module to another light control module.

6. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising excluding a temperature reading that is a pre-specified threshold above the temperature readings of the first group of temperature sensors.

7. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising excluding the temperature reading if a dimming circuit of the respective light control module is active.

8. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising:

detecting occupancy via an occupancy sensor of one or more light control modules; and

changing the adjustment in response to the occupancy detection.

9. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising grouping the temperature sensors of the lighting control modules into a second group corresponding to an exterior wall.
