Abstract

Disclosed herein is a cooking system for cooking food, the cooking system being functional in a plurality of cooking modes. The cooking system includes a housing defining a hollow chamber configured to receive a food container. The housing has an upper portion defining an opening to the hollow chamber. A first lid is adapted to cover the opening to the hollow chamber. At least one heating element is associated with at least one of the housing and the lid. The cooking system is operable in an air frying mode and a conductive cooking mode. The upper portion of the housing includes a feature of a locking system for locking a second lid to the housing.

Claims (13)

1. A cooking system for cooking food, the cooking system being functional in a plurality of cooking modes, the cooking system comprising:

a housing defining a hollow chamber configured to receive a food container, said housing having an upper portion defining an opening to said hollow chamber;

a first lid adapted to cover said opening to said hollow chamber, the cooking system operating in an air frying mode when said first lid covers said opening to said hollow chamber; and

at least one heating element associated with at least one of said housing and said lid;

a second lid adapted to cover said opening to said hollow chamber and including a locking feature for locking said second lid to said housing, the system operating in conductive mode when said second lid covers said opening to said hollow chamber.

2. The cooking system of claim 1 , wherein said locking feature is a bayonet locking feature.

3. The cooking system of claim 1 , wherein said locking feature is located about said second lid and said upper portion of said housing.

4. The cooking system of claim 1 , wherein said first lid is moveably attached to said housing and is moveable between a first position that covers said opening to said hollow chamber and a second position where said first lid does not cover said opening to said hollow chamber.

5. The cooking system of claim 1 , wherein said at least one heating element is disposed within said first lid.

6. The cooking system of claim 5 , further comprising an air movement device coupled to at least one of said housing and said lid to circulate air through said hollow interior.

7. The cooking system of claim 6 , wherein said air movement device is operable to draw air through said at least one heating element.

8. The cooking system of claim 2 , wherein said bayonet locking feature is engageable to lock said second lid to said housing when said conductive cooking mode is a pressure cooking mode.

9. The cooking system of claim 1 , where said second lid is a pressure cooking lid.
