Abstract

A wireless device transmits a first scheduling request (SR) based on a buffer status reporting procedure. A second SR is triggered in response to initiating a beam failure recovery. The second SR is transmitted via an uplink control channel resource configured for the second SR. A first downlink control information is received via a downlink control channel, as a response to the second SR. Based on receiving the first downlink control information: the first SR is keep pending, and the second SR is cancelled for the beam failure recovery.

Claims (39)

1. A method comprising:

transmitting, by a wireless device, a first scheduling request (SR) based on a buffer status reporting procedure;

triggering, in response to initiating a beam failure recovery, a second SR;

transmitting the second SR via an uplink control channel resource configured for the second SR;

receiving, via a downlink control channel, a first downlink control information as a response to the second SR; and

based on receiving the first downlink control information:

keeping the first SR pending; and

cancelling the second SR for the beam failure recovery.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the uplink control channel resource comprises at least one of:

a frequency radio resource;

an uplink control channel format;

a cyclic shift of a base sequence; and

a time radio resource.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first downlink control information comprises a downlink assignment.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first downlink control information comprises an uplink grant.

5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising completing the beam failure recovery in response to cancelling the second SR.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving one or more messages comprising at least one of:

first configuration parameters of a first plurality of SRs comprising the first SR; and

second configuration parameters of the second SR.

7. The method of claim 6 , wherein the wireless device triggers the second SR based on the second configuration parameters.

8. The method of claim 6 , wherein the second configuration parameters indicate the uplink control channel resource for the second SR.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the wireless device initiates the beam failure recovery in response to detecting a number of beam failure instances.

10. The method of claim 9 , wherein the wireless device detects the number of beam failure instances in response to channel quality of one or more reference signal resources being lower than one or more first thresholds.

11. The method of claim 9 , further comprising selecting, from a plurality of reference signals, a first reference signal based on one or more second thresholds in response to initiating the beam failure recovery.

12. The method of claim 11 , wherein the second SR indicates a reference signal receive power value of the first reference signal.

13. The method of claim 11 , wherein the second SR indicates at least one of:

the number of beam failure instances being detected; and

the first reference signal being selected.

14. The method of claim 1 , further comprising monitoring the downlink control channel for the first downlink control information.

15. The method of claim 14 , wherein the wireless device monitors the downlink control channel on:

at least one control resource set of the downlink control channel; and

at least one search space of the downlink control channel.

16. The method of claim 14 , wherein the downlink control channel is associated with the second SR.

17. The method of claim 16 , wherein the downlink control channel being associated with the second SR comprises at least one of:

at least one control resource set of the downlink control channel being determined based on the second SR; and

at least one search space of the downlink control channel being determined based on the second SR.

18. The method of claim 1 , further comprising transmitting the first SR via a second uplink control channel resource configured for the first SR, in response to keeping the first SR pending.

19. The method of claim 18 , further comprising receiving, via a second downlink control channel, one or more second downlink control information comprising one or more uplink grants.

20. The method of claim 19 , further comprising cancelling the first SR in response to the one or more uplink grants accommodating data available for uplink transmission.
