Abstract

Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for automatically upgrading and finding components similar to legacy versions. In an embodiment, an automatic upgrading system may determine a first pattern for a first graphical component of a computing platform, identify a first attribute for the first pattern. A second graphical component may be searched by similar attribute as the first graphical component to replace the first graphical component for the computing platform.

Claims (48)

1. A method to automatically upgrade a first graphical component of a computing platform, comprising:

determining, by a computing device, a first pattern representing a graphical property of the first graphical component;

identifying, by the computing device, a first attribute for the first pattern;

searching, by the computing device, for a second graphical component with a second pattern representing a graphical property of the second graphical component and having a second attribute based on a first comparison between the first attribute and the second attribute; and

replacing, by the computing device in response to an identification of the second graphical component based on the first comparison, the first graphical component with the second graphical component for the computing platform.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the replacing comprises:

rendering, by the computing device in response to the replace of the first graphical component with the second graphical component, a set of data previously rendered to the first graphical component onto the second graphical component.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second pattern comprises a group of attributes based on a second comparison with the first attribute.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein searching for the second graphical component comprises:

searching for the second graphical component with an image pattern having a visual characteristic based on the first comparison.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein searching for the second graphical component comprises:

searching for the second graphical component with a table pattern having a data type based on the first comparison.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

switching, by the computing device, between the first pattern and the second pattern based on a requirement of a device, wherein the device uses the computing platform.

7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

providing, by the computing device, a plurality of patterns to choose from for replacing the first pattern.

8. A system to automatically upgrade a first graphical component of a computing platform, comprising:

a memory; and

at least one processor coupled to the memory and configured to:

determine a first pattern representing a graphical property of the for-a-first graphical component;

identify a first attribute for the first pattern;

search for a second graphical component with a second pattern representing a graphical property of the second graphical component and having a second attribute based on a first comparison between the first attribute and the second attribute; and

replace the first graphical component with the second graphical component for the computing platform in response to an identification of the second graphical component based on the first comparison.

9. The system of claim 8 , wherein the replacing comprises:

render a set of data previously rendered to the first graphical component onto the second graphical component in response to the replace of the first graphical component with the second graphical component.

10. The system of claim 8 , wherein the second pattern comprises a group of attributes based on a second comparison with the first attribute.

11. The system of claim 8 , wherein searching for the second graphical component comprises:

search for the second graphical component with an image pattern having a visual characteristic based on the first comparison.

12. The system of claim 8 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:

switch between the first pattern and the second pattern based on a requirement of a device, wherein the device uses the computing platform.

13. The system of claim 8 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:

provide a plurality of patterns to choose from for replacing the first pattern.

14. A non-transitory computer-readable device having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by at least one computing device, cause the at least one computing device to perform operations to automatically upgrade a first graphical component of a computing platform, comprising:

determining, by a computing device, a first pattern representing a graphical property of the first graphical component;

identifying, by the computing device, a first attribute for the first pattern;

searching, by the computing device, for a second graphical component with a second pattern representing a graphical property of the second graphical component and having a second attribute based on a first comparison between the first attribute and the second attribute; and

replacing, by the computing device in response to an identification of the second graphical component based on the first comparison, the first graphical component with the second graphical component for the computing platform.

15. The non-transitory computer-readable device of claim 14 , wherein the replacing comprises:

rendering, by the computing device in response to the replace of the first graphical component with the second graphical component, a set of data previously rendered to the first graphical component onto the second graphical component.

16. The non-transitory computer-readable device of claim 14 , wherein the second pattern comprises a group of attributes based on a second comparison with the first attribute.

17. The non-transitory computer-readable device of claim 14 , wherein searching for the second graphical component comprises:

searching for the second graphical component with an image pattern having a visual characteristic based on the first comparison.

18. The non-transitory computer-readable device of claim 14 , wherein searching for the second graphical component comprises:

searching for the second graphical component with a table pattern having a data type based on the first comparison.

19. The non-transitory computer-readable device of claim 14 , the operations further comprising:

switching between the first pattern and the second pattern based on a requirement of a device, wherein the device uses the computing platform.

20. The non-transitory computer-readable device of claim 14 , the operations further comprising:

providing a plurality of patterns to choose from for replacing the first pattern.
