Abstract

An electronic vapor provision device including a power cell and a vaporizer, wherein the vaporizer includes a heating element, a vaporization cavity, and an airflow channeler, wherein the airflow channeler is situated outside of the vaporization cavity, and wherein the heating element and a heating element support configured to support the heating element are situated within the vaporization cavity.

Claims (37)

1. An electronic vapor provision device comprising:

a power cell; and

a vaporizer, wherein the vaporizer comprises a heating element, a vaporization cavity, and an airflow channeler, wherein the airflow channeler is situated outside of the vaporization cavity, and wherein the heating element and a heating element support configured to support the heating element are situated within the vaporization cavity,

wherein the airflow channeler is shaped so as to bulge in one or more regions.

2. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 1 , wherein the vaporization cavity is a region in which liquid is vaporized.

3. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 1 , wherein the airflow channeler is configured in use to act as an obstruction such that air flows down a side of the airflow channeler.

4. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 1 , wherein the electronic vapor provision device is an electronic cigarette.

5. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 1 , wherein the airflow channeler is configured in use to channel airflow along a length of the heating element.

6. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 1 , wherein the airflow channeler is configured in use to focus airflow in one or more regions of the heating element.

7. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 6 , wherein the airflow channeler is configured in use to focus airflow in an end region of the heating element or in a central region of the heating element.

8. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 1 , wherein the airflow channeler is configured in use to create an airflow gradient over the heating element.

9. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 1 , wherein the airflow channeler is situated outside of the heating element.

10. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 1 , wherein the airflow channeler is elongated in a direction of a longitudinal axis of the heating element.

11. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 1 , wherein a cross-sectional shape of the airflow channeler is a polygon.

12. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 11 , wherein a cross-sectional shape of the airflow channeler is a square.

13. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 1 , wherein the airflow channeler comprises a spiral shape.

14. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 1 , wherein the airflow channeler is substantially conical.

15. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 1 , wherein the airflow channeler is cylindrical.

16. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 1 , wherein the airflow channeler comprises a wider end and a narrower end and is configured such that in use air is drawn towards the wider end or the narrower end.

17. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 1 , wherein the airflow channeler is shaped so as to bulge in a central region.

18. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 1 . wherein the heating element is a heating coil.

19. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 18 , wherein the airflow channeler is configured in use to spiral airflow over the heating coil.

20. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 18 , wherein the airflow channeler is configured in use to focus airflow on an end of the heating coil, the inside of the heating coil or the outside of the heating coil.

21. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 18 , wherein the airflow channeler is configured in use to focus airflow through turns of the heating coil.

22. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 1 , wherein the heating element comprises an inside, and wherein the heating element is not supported on the inside.

23. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 1 , wherein the heating element support is a liquid store.

24. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 1 , wherein the heating element is on an inside of the heating element support.

25. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 1 , wherein one or more gaps are provided between the heating element and the heating element support.

26. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 1 , wherein the heating element is in contact with the heating element support at points along a length of the heating element support.

27. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 1 , wherein the airflow channeler forms part of the heating element support.

28. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 1 , wherein the electronic vapor provision device further comprises a mouthpiece section and the vaporizer is part of the mouthpiece section.

29. The electronic vapor provision device of claim 28 , wherein the heating element support fills the mouthpiece section.

30. A vaporizer for an electronic vapor provision device comprising a power cell, the vaporizer comprising:

a heating element;

a vaporization cavity; and

an airflow channeler, wherein the airflow channeler is situated outside of the vaporization cavity, and wherein the heating element and a heating element support configured to support the heating element are situated within the vaporization cavity,

wherein the airflow channeler is shaped so as to bulge in one or more regions.
